Hello, there. I am here to tell you about Vector, and the origin of his abilities.

You see, in a realm of the multiverse, whose name has long been lost to history, there resides a god named Chaos. Chaos is basically the one and the all. Stars burn because of him. Cars rust, and water evaporates because of him. Without him, the multiverse would be static; all the chaos in the multiverse would simply cease to exist. Chaos has a problem. His physical manifestation cannot leave the realm. Instead, he can project his will to any realm he pleases. Why he chose this realm is Chaos's secret. After all, with a name like that, you gotta be chaotic.



The Chaos Emeralds.

The Chaos Emeralds are seven fabled stones with infinite power, and are found on the planet of Mobius. Thats only half true.
There are at least five sets of the emeralds known to exist. All of them are creation weapons. However, one needs only gain one set of seven, and they control the power of all of them. Chaos, upon the creation of the multiverse, decided to create the emeralds to empower mortals. Gods and demons cannot harnes the power of the emeralds; that right is reserved for mortals. Depending on who handles them, the results can be different.


Vector's Speed.

Vector, like a lot of other yoshies, spent time on Yoshi Island. Vector lived on South Yoshi Island, not far from Lich. It turned out that Yamauchi had one of the sets of emeralds. It also turned out that Vector stumbled on them. He picked one up, and was hit by a blast of energy. The blast should have killed him; but it instead left him with the most phenominal speed known in the mortal world. This speed had a side effect: HYPER.



HYPER

HYPER is the term for the state that a mortal reaches when they harness the power of the emeralds. Some turn out like Superman. Others become super intelegent. Some gain super strength. And a select few gain powers to rival that of gods. These few are selected by Chaos, after he has deemed them worthy, of carrying out his will. Once a mortal gains the abilty of HYPER they can regain the status if they absorb a large amount of energy, or if they harness the emeralds again. Vector is one of the few that get crazy powerful when in the HYPER state. He is also one of only two beings that can gain the power of HYPER and retain their will. The other is Sonic the Hedgehog, and he calls it Super.
Even a godlike HYPER being has weaknesses. Vector is no different. He can drown in water, which is strange, as he can survive in space, and he can be harmed by gods, and other HYPER beings.


Anyway, I just thought I'd post this to clarify any confusion about Vector, Chaos, HYPER and the emeralds.
