Chapter I: Tripping on the Red Ribbon ~Kyanosa
Kyanosa stood up, brushed himself off, and looked around. He was standing in a big grassy field. Actually, there wasn't grass anymore. When the Genesis crashed, any plant life that was still alive had been wiped out. So it was more like he was standing in a big field. Which was really a big expanse of dirt and rocks, so I guess it wouldn't be a field either. It was more like a war zone, but since the war was over, that term was largely inappropriate as well. Taking everything into account, Kyanosa was standing in a big.
Looking back, he wasn't entirely sure how he got where he was. He knew he had gone through the Genesis with a werewolf and a guy who could set his hand on fire, but he'd lost them someplace in the corridors of the massive battle fortress. He remembered the fight with the very tall robot, involving the cyborg, the Yoshi, and the hazy fellow who seemed like a very, very angry Protoss. He had gone through the door to the next chamber, but had stopped to regain some energy after exerting most of his burning things. That was about it. Next thing he knew, it was now.
He was sure to
take note of a few people nearby, just about as lost as he. The cyborg was gazing intently at the crater, probably trying
to figure out why he was currently where he was. Not far from him was the same Yoshi
as before, looking at the sky. Another Yoshi was farther from the crater, but
by the time Kyanosa had finished blinking, he had
left. The man who could set his hand on fire was checking around the fallen
trees. God knows why. Assessing his current situation, Kyanosa
decided to start remembering people's names. Calling people "bipolar guy
who stabs things" wouldn't fly.
Oh, and speaking of flying, it soon became clear why Yoshi number one was
watching the air. Rip holes began to open, not unlike the ones through which Kyanosa had traveled to get to
get to Zolott in the first place. And if that weren't
bad enough, people were falling from them. This wouldn't be of great concern,
except that some rip holes were one foot from the ground and some were one
hundred, with a healthy mix in the middle.
Suffering from a rare stroke of inspiration brought on by remembering the portals, Kyanosa pulled the yellow book out from his lower pant leg, which was where he had kept it since his upper armor had shattered. Upon flipping through the pages, he was a bit more than dismayed to find the vast majority of them totally blank. He went through the entire book, hoping for something that would explain where he was, why he was there, who all was there, what else was there, and I forget the fifth question word. On the last page, there was still some standard black text, and Kyanosa began to read it aloud.
“Congratulations on the (eventual) triumph of good over evil. You are to be commended for your minor yet unabashedly comical foray into the big kids' world of saving vast inter-dimensional bodies. Unfortunately, your reward is yet to come. When the tall British fellow (herein referred to as ‘Havering’, which is his real name, you big freak) finally fell, the warp field of the planet of his creation became unstable. A number of people, miraculously, were transported to the planets of their origin, or at least where they were last. Some were placed somewhere completely random. All mourn their inevitable passing. The remainder (herein referred to as ‘you guys’) remained on Zolott.
“In case that's not fun enough, let's mix things up. The warp field not only became unstable, it outright shattered. The ‘fragments’, for lack of a better term and the sheer laziness not to look one up, flew all over the known, unknown, and parts we don't really care about, until they hit people. These people were then transported to Zolott, each with their various intricacies, and that explains the rip holes opening around you.
"Oh, and more things. Since the true power of Zolott was more in its actual form than the manner in which it was created, its physical self is stronger than its other facets, especially because of the beating said facets took upon the death of Havering. This is why you're still alive, not another casualty of a large, exploding landmass. Thing is, it will explode soon enough. You guys, still on the planet, must get out. Difficulties? Because of the instability of the energy surrounding the planet, warping out is absolutely impossible. Also, physically leaving the planet, such as flying or using a spaceship, will not likely work, since the energy still affects matter on the physical plane, which means that a body leaving the planet might disrupt said energy in a way that could make itself, or even Zolott, self-destruct. Ha ha.
“Good luck is wished upon you and your eventual comrades, as well as the best of intentions by all except those who want you dead. Always remember that living is good, and dying is not as good. Sincerely, Fate.”
Kyanosa glanced up from the book,
checking around to see nobody else he new, then reread
it. He smiled, summoned his sword, and stuck it on his back. Looks
like he still hadn't missed the big one. He walked up to the closest
person and introduced himself.
