Chapter XI: Teleportation is Fun ~Magikia

"Alekalapoyonoga...

The maroon Yoshi kneeled on the floor, a glowing green ball of energy glowing between her hands.

"Sarakobosidokupua..."

She had long jet black hair which partially covered her dark skin. Her yellow-green eyes glowed in the light of the orb before her. She wore a black cloak...the hood with it was down but nevertheless visible. She was perspiring a bit...as if she had been in deep contemplation for a long time.

"Sanasanako Prismaya!"

She thrust her hands in a motion towards the orb, and its glow filled the room with intense green light. The light moved on its own, before forming into a beam which twirled around the room and shot into her eyes.

She stumbled forward, her orb rolling away from her as she fell into a heap on the floor, the black ocean of hair covering her face. She began to chuckle. The chuckle quickly turned into a laugh...which immediately turned into a cackle. She lifted her head, pulling her hair from her eyes (which seemed to be fine despite their assault), and continued cackling maniacally as she rose to her feet.

"Yes!" She exclaimed, picking up her orb and sitting it upon her table. "At last, I have finally discovered her location! No more hiding for you, Princess Prismaya!"

She walked over to her shelf, pulling out a rather large book of spells. She opened it, and began to thumb through it carefully. "Teleportation. There we are."

She grinned, read the instructions carefully, and giggled in excitement. She took her wooden staff and prepared to chant, then decided it would be a good idea if she brought along some supplies...just in case. She took an empty Koopa shell, cast a spell upon it and shrank it to the size of a thimble, placing it into a small pouch made of Goomba leather. She did the same with a few vials of potion, as well as with her orb, then closed the pouch tightly and tied it to her cloak.

With her staff in hand, she began to chant in words that only those of the Magikoopan elite would recognize. After speaking these arcane words for but a minute, she took the book in her hand and held it to her heart, intending to take it with her. She spoke three last words and hit her staff against the ground, and, in a poof of yellow-green smoke, was gone.

Well, there must have been some sort of mistake, for our dear Yoshi –Magikia by name – saw no Prismaya. She looked around her...her snout wrinkled in disgust, viewing this expanse of what appeared to be a war zone...without the war...but we've already covered that, haven't we? She saw a group of lifeforms nearby. None Yoshian. None Koopan. Therefore not worth her time. She cleared her throat and closed her eyes, scanning the area with her mind.

No Prismaya.

She cursed under her breath. The spell took her to the wrong place!

"Must have been when I absently stared at the sky in the middle of chanting."

She snorted unhappily, and sat down on the ground, opening her spellbook. She began to chant again, performing the same ritual that had brought her here. Unfortunately, though it gave the nice green smoke effect, it did not teleport our favorite Yoshi as expected.

It was now that the lifeforms nearby heard an extremely loud profanity.

It was going to be a loooooooong day.
