Chapter XV:
Eugene’s Intro ~Eugene
Out of the
bleak night cries the prepubescent voice of a lanky man hidden in the shadows
of Zolott. From his askewed
lips comes an excited phrase..."I did it, I am free." The young dote breaks out into sudden, outrageous laughter, which
echoes to the far corners of Zolott.
His laughter ends as his mind wanders to earlier
that day. He was huddled in the far corner of the Manhattan library
reading multiple volumes on ancient Druid mind control. His thick glasses
reflected the ancient text as a group of young men eighteen or so began
taunting him. Under his breath Eugene muttered "Soon you will worship me... will obey my every
whim." The largest of the young man shouted, "What did you say?
Jesus, your so queer!" Eugene returns to
his reading as the band of rogues storm off. Once the
young men were out of sight, Eugene shouted, "I swear by the name of Tisrav,
the Druid god of pacifism, I will control this society which tortures me
so!" Following his mellow-dramatic episode, Eugene began his
long walk home, carrying his books by his side. All of a sudden, a gargantuan
vortex opened, sucked Eugene in, and vanished. Eugene recalls these blissful moments with a smile on his distorted face
and whispers, "Thank Tisrav, I am free, free
from this wretched society!" The demented soul resumes his idiotic
laughter.
