Chapter XVI: The Aftermath ~Kaye

Kaye let the barrier down with a wave of her hand. She, as well as Nubi, who had been close enough to be protected by the barrier she had thrown up just as the Hunter unleashed his spell, were unscathed. The others, who had been knocked down by the spell, were now climbing back to their feet. The forest around them had been completely blown away.
Well at least we're out of the forest!" Kyanosa said happily.
All Mazzic did was nod.
"So why exactly is that guy after you?" Kaye asked.
"I'm not really sure." Pyrna admitted, resheathing her sword. "He was after me in my own world, before I arrived here."
"In any case it means we've already got trouble." Mazzic said, still happy with the fight still fresh in his mind.
There was a sudden echoing laughter, which caused the whole group to pause and look around.
"Do you think that's still him?" Pyrina asked, looking slightly nervous again.
"Don't worry. You've got me." Kyanosa said proudly, waving the parasol over his head.
"I don't know you that well yet, but somehow I'm not comforted by that fact." Pyrina said truthfully.
Kyanosa looked downcast for a second, but only a second before remembering a very important fact. "Hey do any of you happen to have a marble on you?"
"You want to play with marbles?" Kaye asked in a tone very near disbelief.
"Yes. So anyone have any?"
There was a number of nos, a couple of blank stares, and a death threat from the group.
"Well I am still looking for Wing, and one of you two could have it." Kyanosa said pointing to both Kaye and Pyrina. "Because, both of you have a pair of wings."
"Is he making sense and I'm just missing it?" Kaye whispered to Nubi.
The anthro jackel shook her head. "There is no sense to be made from any of it."
