Chapter XXXV: The First Day of the Rest of Your Life… ~Mazzic

"So anyone care to tell me what happened again?"

Mazzic and the others were gathered around a tree stump that Kyanosa had set on fire.

Mecha looked at him, "Well, to tell it from the beginning, I was looking at Kaia and Kyanosa, who were flying up in the sky making us a map, and you were asleep or something over by that tree." Mecha gestured with a metallic hand and continued, "Then I noticed a glint in the sky and almost as soon as I had finished analyzing it, the figure rammed Kaia--"

"That's me!"

"Yes Kaia that is you, and grabbed Kyanosa. Then by some arcane magic--"

"There's no magic to it, just these marbles!"

"Whatever... anyway he transformed into a rather strong man and threw Kyanosa as hard as he could toward the ground. As I watched he headed toward the ground almost as fast as I can propel myself--I say almost because that is the only reason I was able to save him--and activated my turbine to catch him. With a sleeping Kyanosa in my arms I turned and saw to my own mechanical version of horror that Kaia--"

"That's me!!"

"Yes Kaia that's you, was about to land directly on you...fearing that you would wake up, and either have some brain damage or other defect--or you ripping Kaia--"

"That's me!!!"

"Will you shut up already!"

"Don't bother I already tried to shut her up, she just doesn't
pay any attention...continuing though. I feared that you would rip...umm...Ms. K limb from limb. Unfortunately I miscalculated my trajectory, due to the strange magical energies emanating from the planet, and slammed directly into you at the same time that I caught her. It was about this time that you woke up and had a little temper tantrum and caused the earthquake which split the ground over there." Again Vector gestured with his metallic hand, and continued, "Which caused the geyser to erupt over there," another gesture, "in turn causing massive amounts of flooding in the recently split ground," Yet another gesture, "and finally you almost literally blew up and caused that crater in the middle of the Big, which is also filled with water. Then, you passed out and with Kaia's--"

"That's me!!!!"

"--help, I carried you to higher ground."

Mazzic contemplated all of this for a minute and nonchalantly answered, "But we have the map right?"

"Yes and no...we have a map, but it looks like this:" Mecha Vector held up Kyanosa's book, on the cover of which was a horribly smudged, mostly incoherent map of the surrounding area.

"So...which way is north"

"I don't know"

"What's that little dot over there?"

"I wish I could say."

"What good is this map then?"

"Quite frankly not much."

"So we're back where we started before this whole mess began?"

"Yup."

"Alright, well...let's go--" Mazzic stood up and did the most common sensical thing that came to his mind at that moment, spun in a circle with his arm outstreched and stopped pointing in a random direction. "That way!"

"I'm not sure--"

"Listen, does anyone have a better idea?"

"Nope."

"Why aren't we talking about me any more?"

"I'll take that as a no. Kyanosa?"

"I like fire" Kyanosa grinned, Mazzic repressed the urge to hit him as hard as he could--which probably would have killed him, so it would be more correct to say that Mazzic repressed the urge to kill Kyanosa...that seems to happen a lot. The Narrator grins.

"Alright, so three no's? Good, let's go." Mazzic began walking in the direction that he had pointed and after a few seconds, the others followed as well.
