Chapter VII - This Adventure Needs Some Colour ~Prism

"Whoa, WHOA! Easy girl!!" a green Hoshi with wings of lightning yelped as his multicoloured opponent barely missed his stomach with her foot. She smirked, and with a few swipes of her staff, the lightning elemental had been knocked to the ground.

"I give! I give!"

Prism chuckled lowly to herself, the staff disappearing from her hand.

"Thoro, you really need to train more."

"Yeah, well, you really need to work on your people skills," the green reptile grumbled, rubbing his bruised cheek with one hand.

Prism chuckled at the response, but then her face grew serious again.

"The protection of the Divine Crystal is far more important than anything else," she retorted. "Don't forget that."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, I know," Thoro rolled his eyes.

They, along with others, stood around a massive pillar. Atop this pillar stood a large crystal. This was the Divine Crystal: the power source of the Star Road, which has power over all elements.

"Princess!" Glacier, a female teal Hoshi with wings of ice, interrupted. "Unidentified vehicle heading this way!"

Prism's eyes widened. In all the time that she had been given her responsibility of guarding the Divine Crystal, there had yet to be a threat to it.

"Okay, guys," she stammered, her staff forming in her hand. "Prepare to protect the Crystal!"

The others nodded, each withdrawing his or her weapon.

As the vehicle came closer, it could be visibly identified as a train of some sort. Once directly in front of the Divine Crystal, the train stopped, and the Guardians went into a defensive position, with Prism in front of them.

"Only those worthy of admittance are allowed here!" Prism called out to the train. "Show yourself, trespasser, or be punished!"

The Spectrum's door opened, and Scilas stepped out, staring at Prism.

"Prismaya Yoshii?" he asked blankly.

The princess quirked a brow, not letting her guard down.

"That's right," she replied, a star forming in her hand. "And I know not who you might be, so I suggest that you either leave immediately or be destroyed."

Scilas smirked.

"I'm not leaving without you, Princess," he retorted.

The multicolored hoshi frowned, the star in her hand morphing into an orb of light.

"Well then," she shrugged. "I certainly hope that train of yours has explosion insurance."

She clutched the Star Orb in her hand and prepared to throw it-

"Prism! Wait!" came the familiar voice.

Prism stared as a more familiar face emerged from the train.

"...6400?" the Princess scratched her head as the Yoshi God of Warriors smiled, "...what's going on?"

"I'll explain it on the train," 6400 replied. "We need your help again."

Prism nodded slowly, then looked to the other Guardians.

"Will you be alright on your own?" she asked.

"Certainly, Princess," Gaia, the eldest, replied with a grin. "You go...these people seem to genuinely need you."

Prism smiled, her eyes lighting up somewhat. It had been years since she had gone away from MichinoHoshi...this would be splendid.

"Just a minute, then," the princess nodded, approaching the Divine Crystal.

She held up the Crystalo Staff, closing her eyes. After she chanted some phrases in the Hoshian tongue, the Crystal began to glow brightly, and finally a shard of the crystal, the Shard of Light, was removed, and floated down towards its owner. Prism smiled and put it on a black band she had kept in her pocket, and put the band around her neck.

"Okay..." she grinned ecstatically, "let's get going."
