Chapter XV - This Better Be Worth It ~Jade

The chatter and talk that had arose in the train continued endlessly. Jade snored quietly, mumbling curses to herself at whoever asked her to awaken. The talking continued until it finally aroused her from her quiet nap. She opened both her eyes slowly, the vague blueness of them standing out as she realized she was now inside the train.

"Dammit... so much for hiding," she paused, listening to the voices in the train-car up ahead.

She finally arose from the ground, her clawed feet clunking tiredly, as she did not wear any shoes. Her sleek auburn hair was now a tussle from her quick nap as was her clothes. She wore a tight leather top. It was short at the waist and reached down just a little above her belly button, which revealed quite a bit of her scaly yellowish belly. The neck area of her outfit was a tad low and made her chest area look a little too "revealing" and the sleeves, which were cut off made her shirt a tube top with thicker straps. The shirt in whole was made of black leather that tightened against her chest and ribs. Her pants were just a pair of regular tight blue jeans except for her tail which poked through the back of her jeans and trailed down to the ground.

Gazing up ahead nonchalantly at the group she slowly made her way to the passenger car where the numerous "heroes" seemed to take her unnoticed. They talked amongst themselves quietly...

"God! Why does this train smell so bad? Did someone puke in here or something?" was her first words to the "allies" she would be spending her time with.

6400, Sapphire and Prism turned, fully recognizing the female Lizard. Jade eyed them.

"6400? What are you doing here?" she growled.

"I'd ask the same to you but I think I've already figured it out," he retorted.

Jade rolled her eyes at him and turned the other way, colliding into Ark whom had left the sleeping quarters for a fair moment.

"Oh... sorry about that," he smiled politely. "I believe that was my fault...you must be another one of the chosen who has decided to join on this adventure."

She grinned, her tail flicking back and forth casually.

"Heh...I wouldn't say chosen."

She looked him up and down, noticing his ceremonial outfit.

"...What's with the get-up? You sacrificing something?"

Ark smiled politely, ignoring her bluntness.

"I have just become the Guardian of the Ebony Lance. This outfit was included as a ceremonial requirement. My name is Ark Beruga Yoshi von Kippo."

"Err...looks kinda itchy if you ask me. You have the same last name of that weird orange Yoshi who I've seen at the Aurorium," she smirked again, her sharp sheer white fangs now exposed.

Ark cocked his head in question. "Who might you be?"

Jade's smirk melted into a coolly sly smile. "Jade...I'm a goddess, y'know. I wield unknown powers," her tone had now changed to sound polite and proud, for she was lying.

"A Yoshi goddess? Oh…I'm sorry I didn't realize...you don't look like a Yoshi very much...more of…a reptile? I couldn't tell with the - ahem - attire you're wearing that you are a goddess."

Her blue eyes swiftly flashed.

"Bah! I'm no Yoshistinkin'-" she paused and smiled again, a cheap polite smile. "Err...nice to meet you...Ark."

She turned quickly her foot stepping on a wet spot in the carpet. The smell of vomit hit her nostrils once again and she snarled in disgust looking from the Yoshies to the other assorted "freaks" on the train and mumbled to herself, "Once again I tell myself...this better'd be worth it".
