Chapter XXVII - It Never Ends… ~Prism

"Ugh...this is the last time I decide not to wear a seatbelt..." Prism groaned, grabbing her ribs in pain.

The impact from the crash had sent her flying into one wall of the train.

"Pris? You okay?" Lich asked, helping her up.

"I'll live." The Hoshi winced, before casting a weak healing spell on herself. "What the hell was that?"

Prism's question was answered as a Zerg Scourge somehow broke through the window beside her.

"AGH! Not another one of THOSE things!"

She groaned, the Crystalo Staff appearing in her hand as she knocked the scourge aside.

"We're sitting ducks in here! We'll have to fight 'em! Everyone get off the train!"

She ran for the train's exit, the others following her lead.

CR leaned back and smiled as he watched the Hoshi exit.

"Such spirit...I can see why he likes her..." he mused.

"What was that?" Omega asked.

"Oh nothing,” CR chuckled, before following the others out of the Spectrum.

"Zerg..." Prism grumbled, fighting off the Scourges with her staff. "I hate Zerg."

She sent a beam of light from her staff, blinding the Zerg as they fell back a bit. Prism grinned, looking towards Lich.

"Wanna how much I hate Zerg?"

Lich blinked in response, as the Hoshi clenched her fist. A huge star fell from the sky, landing on some of the scourges and crushing about seven of them.

"That much."

"…Whoa."

Lich grinned as the star disappeared. Infuriated, the Scourges flew back towards the group, and the battle began. Each "chosen one" was an expert at one field of battle or another, but the scourges had the advantage due to their great numbers. Even with Prism's "Star Crush" as she called it and other magic techniques used by each of the adventurers, there were simply too many scourges, and some of our heroes were growing tired.

CR didn't participate in the fight. Instead, he stood a good distance away, watching silently. Rynn stood behind him, holding Kai in her arms to shelter him from the cold.

"Will we get through this?" she asked CR.

CR remained silent.

"There are too many!" Prism yelled as she got knocked backwards onto the ground.

She looked up to the sky, expecting her final blow, but instead gazed in awe as a fleet of Protoss Corsairs and Scouts flooded the atmosphere. The Scourges looked up, surprised, as the vessels began to fire on them.

"Go," a familiar voice sounded as the scourges began to attack the Protoss vessels. "Go quickly."

"Artanis?!" Lich gaped in surprise.

"We were mistaken," the Praetor replied.

"But what about the Spectrum?" Prism asked, looking to CR.

"It's been taken care of," he replied with a smile.

"Then let's get the hell outta here," Jade snorted. "...Not like I couldn't handle those overgrown bats anyway," she said reassuringly.

The adventurers ran towards the train, boarding it quickly. Within minutes the train had risen to the sky again. When the Scourges attempted to follow, one of the vessels fired some sort of web over them, rendering them helpless.

"We will meet again..." Artanis murmured, staring as the Spectrum disappeared into space.
