Chapter XXXII - Remembering
~Jade
Jade rubbed the temples of her
forehead in annoyance as she lay back in her seat in the corner of the train,
unnoticed as usual. That loud-mouthed idiot had finally stopped babbling after
getting stuffed, but there was something more that gave her a headache...
She had been listening to the couple nearby. The mother held a child with her as the father spoke of some dream... her cold blue eyes had softened as she fixated into thought...seeing a loving family made her hurt...and she hated hurt. Especially emotionally, for it meant weakness was swimming inside her mind. She leaned back in her chair which reclined in a comfortable manner as she winced.
Family... I raised a family
once. I wonder where my baby is... my little Matthew...
She sighed, clenching her fist tightly as small beads of sweat ran down her face and arms. She was too vexated on the memories she had...
"I don't NEED anyone," she assured herself out loud.
Prism had just wandered past
towards the sleeping chambers in a deep trance as well. Jade flinched and
looked around quickly. Had anyone seen her thinking? Did the softness in her
eyes give anything away? No...the warriors around her
continued to murmur and speak within their own conversations. Her calmness
disappeared as she was suddenly alert...someone was watching her. She could
feel it... she growled under her breath, reclining the chair forward again in
annoyance. It wasn't a dangerous look she felt though…just someone nearby
staring at her. She looked around, left to right, seeing everyone indulged in
their own chatter. Not a single person noticed her.
"Heh...I'm getting more and more paranoid by the minute," she smirked and quietly rested back again, blending in as she listened to the many conversations around her...
