Chapter LXXX: The Dream ~Rynn

Rynn went back to her room soon after Naaro blasted off for Yoshin. Kai was asleep in the small crib they had put together. He had a smile on his face. She knew he'd be upset when he found Naaro missing. He was his father's son and very attached to him. She prayed Naaro would be alright, but something kept nagging her. She sat down, trying to push the thoughts away. He said he'd be fine and she believed him. What else could she do?
She glanced at her young son, and gently reached over to stroke his cheek. The baby yoshi smiled, sighing in his sleep. He looked so much like Naaro. It would kill her if he died again. She wasn't there when he was killed, but she was there when he returned to life. Someone, she couldn't remember who, dropped a jem called the Crystal Tear into a fountain, whispering Naaro's name as the gem fell into the waters. Naaro climbed out of the fountain and vomited. But everyone was glad to see him. It was during all the hugging that her eye caught his. She remembered blushing well. He was handsome. He still is.
Rynn smiled to herself. It took a while for either to really show feelings towards the other. Almost a year, if she remembered correctly. It was soon after his father's death. She comforted him and somehow told him of her feelings. And to her surprise, he felt the same way.
Now they were married, with a son. She knew she couldn't loose him, and knew he'd be fine, but yet Rynn could not shake that feeling something was wrong. Gently lifting Kai from his crib, careful not to wake him, she crawled up on the bed, laying the babe close to the wall, then curled up beside him. She layed her hand on his small belly, just watching him sleep. His small hands curled over her hand. How would Kai feel if they lost his father? Would he even remember him? After all, he was an infant. Who knew what infants could remember.
As Rynn pondered all these thoughts, they started to swirl, making her sleepy. Soon her eyes closed in sleep as well, dreaming of Naaro.
In her dream, Rynn could see Naaro surrounded by other yoshis, all with guns trained on him. But why? Something was said, then Naaro held out his hands. Handcuffs were snapped on his wrists and he suddenly jerked, falling to the ground, out cold. She jerked as well, startling away. Was that real? It couldn't have been. It had to be a dream. Maybe she was so worried she was inventing things that could happen to him. She knew he'd be fine.
She settled back down, brushing a lock of hair from her eyes. Naaro was strong, a fighter. He'd be fine. Slowly her eyes closed and she settled into a dreamless sleep.
