Chapter CXXXIX: Trying to Find a Way Back ~Rynn

Rynn had no clue where to begin her search. Ever since Havering left her, she just seemed lost. She had no clue where anyone was, and thought they weren't even searching for her.

*Ka, where are you?* she thought to herself, flying high over the land, eyes scanning around for anything she recognized.

There wasn't much, and so she finally landed back at her childhood home, where she had left Kai with her parents. She walked in, her mother in the living room, playing with Kai.

"Rynn!" she exclaimed. "Where have you been?"
The navy Drakoni shrugged.

"All over....no sign of Naaro...or any of the others I traveled with," she replied with a soft sigh.
The emerald Drakoni nodded.

"I see," Emeraldas said. "So what are you going to do?"
Rynn sat down, Kai crawling to her, and using her leg, pulled himself up.

"I don't know, Mom, I really don't. I suppose I'll go home. Go home and wait. I dunno even where anyone is...much less how to get back to them."
Emeraldas smiled as Kai attempted to pull himself into his mother's lap, then glanced at her daughter. She seemed so sad.

"What about your Gundam?"
Rynn glanced up at her.

"That's just it. I dunno where they are. My message may never reach them."
Emeraldas lay her hand on Rynn's arm.

"At least try. If you get no response, Naaro will be coming home soon, I know that."
Rynn gave her hands out to Kai, helping him up as she glanced up at her mother.

"I suppose it's worth a try..."
"That's my girl."
Kai climbed up in Rynn's lap, patting her face.

"Dada?" he asked.

Wrapping her arms around him, she stood up.
"We're going to find him, KaiKai."

He grinned.
"Good luck, my Tir," Emeraldas whispered as they left.

Rynn flew back to where she had left Aquilus, Kai holding tightly to her dress. She landed outside the cave where she had hidden the gundam and walked inside. It was standing, looking a little beaten up. She climbed into the cockpit, and sat Kai down on her lap. Flipping the comm link on, she radioed a message.

"Can anyone hear me? Can anyone tell me where you guys are?"


She sat back, hugging Kai to her. "Now we wait."
