Chapter CLXIX:
A New Jewel Capsule and Trouble? ~Sapphire
(Note: this chapter takes place before Kyanosa gets back on the train.)
Sapphire sat thinking to herself and leaning on 6400's shoulder.
"Whatcha thinking about, Sapphy?" said 6400 as he looked over at her.
"Do the Twlighters have a weakness?" asked Sapphire in wonder.
"I think they have a weakness to coffee."
*Hmmm…wonder if I could add coffee to one of my jewel capsules and trick a Twilighter into swallowing it?* pondered Sapphire. *But would it work, though?*
"Ummm, Brian, would a Twilighter swallow a jewel capslue with coffee infused into it?" she asked.
"I’m not sure, Saph, but it may be worth a try."
"But who on here would happen to have coffee stored away?"
"We could go and check out the kitchen and see if Lich happened to put some in there," said 6400, getting up and pulling Sapphire with him.
"Alright, I guess that would work," said Sapphire, getting up and following 6400.
In the kitchen:
"Found some!" Sapphire called to 6400, who was on his knees looking in a pantry.
"Alright!"
*Now, how will I infuse this into a jewel capsule?* Sapphire thought to herself as she walked out of the kitchen with 6400 in tow.
"Brian, I'm going to need quiet, so think you could wait in the main car? I'm going to go to our room, okay?"
"Oh,
alright, I'll be waiting for you when you finish then," 6400 said as he
left Sapphire at their room door.
Sapphire walked
in and went over to her backpack on the floor, rummaged around and found her
empty jewel capsule shells. She opened the jar and took one out and thought to
herself:
*Would the TC be dumb enough to fall for one?*
*I dunno, it’s worth a try though?*
*Isn't that what 6400 said?*
*Yeah, but what if it doesn't work?*
*Well, we don't know if we don't try*
*Okay, but, still, what if it doesn't work? The TC council isn't that dumb.*
*Okay, maybe they aren't.*
*Maybe we could sneak it to them since the direct approach may not work, because we've seen them fight, right? They are hard to get close to.*
*Well, then how would we sneak it to them, huh?*
*I dunno, you think of a way.*
*Okay, I'm thinking.*
30 minutes later…
*GOT it!*
*Okay, tell me then.*
*We could somehow make it so that the jewel capsule dissolves in water or a drink, and then the coffee will spread throughout the drink.*
*But what if the coffee is visible after it has been spread?*
*We could magic it so that, that doesn't happen.*
*And how are we gonna do that?*
*Well there's gotta be a spell somewhere in this brain of ours, right?*
*Right.*
Another thirty minutes later…
*I think I found it.*
*Found something to infuse the coffee as well?*
*Oops…*
And another thirty minutes later…
*Okay, got them both.*
*Wait, how are we gonna get the target to drink the drink?*
*I dunno, I guess we will have to figure that out after we make the capsules.*
*Capsules...won't that make us low on energy afterwards?*
*No, because we're only gonna make four.*
*Oh...okay...oh yeah, ten makes us low...four's okay.*
*Right; now let’s get started.*
*Okay.*
After some
meditation, Sapphire brought out an empty capsule from the jar and levitated it
between her open hands (palms in) and then, while keeping the capsule afloat,
she went to the open container (which was next to her - she opened it while she
was talking to herself; she does that sometimes) and took a bit of coffee. She
infused the coffee with a spell and put the spell into the jewel capsule, then spelled
the jewel capsule so that it would dissolve in a drink of any sort. This took
her almost an hour and a half to do. She then repeated the steps she took for
the first capsule and did three more, meditating a bit in between each so as to
not use up too much energy, even though she didn't have much of a use for it at
the current time but to make these capsules. After completing the capsules she
sat with all four in front of her sitting on the lid of the coffee can. She sat
for sometime before getting up slowly and going to her pack for a small container
for the freshly made capsules, because the coffee can lid had to go back to the
kitchen along with the coffee. She put them in and then carried them, with the
leftover coffee, out to show 6400.
Sapphire walked
up to where 6400 was sitting, settled down next to him and placed the coffee by
her feet. She then opened the lid of the container that the capsules were in
and showed them to 6400.
"Do you think they'll work, Brian?" she asked.
"Well, we will have to try them out, won't we?" he replied.
"I guess. I hope they work though."
"Me too, Sapphy."
"I wonder who'd be willing enough to try the new capsule…"
"I don't know."
"Well, C.R. isn't back yet and there isn't another Twilighter on board except for him, so I guess were going to have to wait until he gets back."
"I guess so,
Saph."
*I wonder if I made it too strong, I hope not…*
After a while
Sapphire and 6400 decided to go and put the coffee can back in the kitchen. As
she was walking back from putting away the coffee, she heard noises coming from
the cell that they put that demon in. She decided that she wasn't really
feeling up to walking all that way to find out what was going on, but she had a
feeling it wasn't good. Sapphire walked back to where she left 6400 with her
finished capsules, sat back down and leaned on him, waiting to see if anyone
would tell them what had happened back there, seeing as she thought that
everyone else would probably be able to handle it. After all, she did pass by Kaye
and company on the way back, so she would be able to take care of whatever
happened, and, besides, how much damage could that demon do anyway, right?
