Chapter
CCXLI: Not Very Trusting at First Sight ~Travallian
Travallian gripped his staff tightly and quirked his brows slightly at the stranger. He tilted his head a little to one side in faint disbelief. He could tell from his short pause that he was untruthful of the name he had told him. Although, he could not say what he thought since he was known to have many names due to all of his transformations. Putting his right hand lightly to his emerald amulet, he stood straight and spoke in a formal tone in response.
“Well then, Oznek,” he started, “My name is Travallian.” He put his hand to his side and pivoted on one foot, turning away to look upon the castle once more. “As for why I am here, that is not of your concern.”
“You seem to have an interest with that castle,” the knight spoke, his eyes blinked to show that he was curious since no mouth or any other feature, but his eyes, could be seen within the shadowy void of his helmet. “What is the reason for this?”
Travallian’s wings flapped absently behind him and he did not respond to the living set of armor. After a short moment, he turned back to face him, his right hand now in his cloak pocket. He narrowed his eyes faintly in thought. He was not sure of this being’s intentions.
A strange one, this individual may be, he thought. He may be someone I have to keep my eye on. He does not look like one to be trusted.
Taking a few steps forward, the vampiric Paratroopa let out a minor grumble and looked the knight straight in the face, examining his expression, attempting to read his thoughts. He slowly shook his head, glanced at his own emerald staff, and then turned to look at Oznek yet again.
“Tell me why you
bother to speak to me,” Travallian said callously,
the emerald on the staff seemingly glowing darkly as if it was showing his
mood. In addition, his accent and speech, to some extent, changed. “Why bother
with someone thou simply see in the streets at night? Tell me. Doth my mere
presence interest you? What is
thy reason thou even followed one like myself up upon this rooftop when I leapt
up here?”
