Chapter CCLXVIII: Uncertainty ~Bulaklak

As she slowly left the tomb, Bulaklak couldn't shake the confusion from her mind. Why didn't the vampire kill her? Why did he give her this pouch? Could vampires read minds? She had never known that, even though she knew of several other abilities they had.

Her hand slowly clasped the velvet pouch he had given her. She had not even opened it yet. For a moment, she wondered if she should, but then thought better of it. She kneeled on the ground and dug a small hole behind a gravestone. Dropping the bag into the hole, she quickly covered it. She could always come back for it if her curiosity got the better of her.

She left the graveyard and headed into town. It was only when she got to the edge that she realized she had forgotten to rob the tomb. She no longer cared. Should she leave town right away? She couldn't think straight since she had met the vampire.....

Her mind was plagued with an unusual uncertainty. Normally, she wouldn't care one way or the other. Normally, she would have kept the pouch. Why was she acting like this? Who was the unconscious man? What did this have to do with her?

She sat down and leaned against a tree and thought, both sides conflicting. One side wanted to leave town and head to the next immediately. The other wanted to stay and find out what was going on. She didn't know who to trust. She couldn't even trust herself.

Suddenly, she stood up and dusted herself off. She had to find out more. The vampire... he said his name was Jeremy? Strange name for a vampire. He said he was at the Blood Rose Inn. Should she go? Yes, if she wanted to know more.

Her heartbeat quickened as she reached the Inn. It wasn't too late to back down and leave. But she had to. If she wanted, she could always flee later. She threw back her shoulders confidently and opened the door.
