Chapter CCLXXIX: Secret Revealed? Fear of Rejection ~Chrono

Chrono stared at the door as he heard the commotion outside of the room. He tried to listen to what was going on. When he heard the talking quiet down somewhat, he turned back to Keshi. Chrono bowed back. He walked over to the bed and sat down.

“My name is Chrono. I come from a planet called Yamauchi,” he began, “I have been wandering around to distant worlds, just exploring…searching for something exciting,” he shrugged, “looking for friends. But, everyone has turned me down as a freak or weirdo.”

Chrono stopped and started to walk towards the window.

“I was born with wings. No normal Yoshi is born with wings, in my opinion. I don’t see many Yoshies with wings. I had no friends. They treated me differently. They judged by looks…not personality. I was always an outcast. A loner.”

He sighed and walked back over to the bed and fell on it. Chrono then sat back up and brought his knees to his chest.

“My parents were killed when I was young…by an evil… I didn’t know what to do. I was taken care of by my grandparents,” he said, his eyes starting to tear up. “I swore I would avenge my parents. And I did. The evilness was called the Black Demon Hearts.”

Chrono didn’t even realize he was saying every little detail about his past and guardianship. His past was blocking any thought of that. He clutched his fist as his eyes teared up more and as he continued to explain about his dark and dreadful past.

“When my parents died, I ran into the forest where I met a mystical Yoshi elder. My theory was he was a messenger of the Yoshi gods or something like that. He gave me a staff called the Staff of Chronos. Giving me this, he told me I was the Guardian of Time and Dreams. He said that I had a power inside of me that no one else had. I was unique. As I looked back from wince I came through the forest, I turned back around and he was gone. He vanished into thin air. I didn’t know what to think. I went back through the forest and went to my grandmother and grandfather’s house. I lived there until I was thirteen. Shortly after my thirteenth birthday, after I had enough experience in magic and fighting, I set out to find the Black Demon Hearts. It took me a year to find it, but I did and defeated them. They would never cause trouble again. But…I know my parents would never return…”

He stopped and clenched his fist again. He closed his eyes and tears streamed down his face. The tears left clean trails in the little dust that was on his face. His face expression changed from a sad one to an angry one for a short period of time.

He wiped his eyes and face and said, “I’m sorry… Whenever I talk about my past… I always do this…”

Chrono then stopped again and shot his head up with shock on his face. He had just realized that he had said everything: all about his magic, his guardianship; everything.

Great… just great!! I just said everything about me and now he will think I’m a freak just like everyone else, he thought. Why must every time I start talking about my past, I reveal every little detail! Why!!??

Chrono wasn’t finished wiping his eyes but still had shock on his face. He looked at Keshi, knowing he would feel the same way others did before him. He looked at him, wondering what he was going to do next.
