Chapter CCXCIX: Tachibana Appears! Revelation of a New Evil ~Chrono

Chrono silently sipped his glass of water as he continued to think. But little did he know, a pair of eyes was staring at him from the distance.

Why did I have that dream…no…nightmare, he began to think, Why did I have it? …Maybe I am just being too paranoid… yeah… that’s it. I am just being too paranoid… all it was, was just a harmless nightmare…

A tall, strong, yet drunk-looking man suddenly came and sat by Chrono. He stared at him as he drank his water.

“Hello there, young’un,” he began with a friendly tone, “You aren’t human, are you? You don’t look it. But you look like a strong lad. Come work for me. You could make lots of money.”

Chrono shifted his eyes from his glass and to the man, and then closed his eyes after looking back at his glass of water. “Thank you for your offer, kind sir, but I have no interest in money. And I cannot work right now due to things that have been happening,” Chrono said with a soft tone.

The man grunted and growled at Chrono, “I didn’t ask ya if ya wanted to. I said you will come with me. And if ya don’t, you will die instead.”

Chrono shifted his eyes again to look at the man. “I shall not work against my will. Now, please, leave me be.” He continued to drink his water.

The man grunted again and slapped the glass away from his mouth and it hit a nearby wall. It suddenly shattered into about a thousand smaller shards of glass. “I don’t think you heard me. I said, if you don’t come with me, you will die,” he growled.

Chrono shook his head. “I do not wish to fight you. Now, if you will excuse me, I will be taking my leave.”

He got up and walked towards the door. The man got up and threw a knife at him. It was coming at a fast rate. Chrono made his staff appear and twirled it around extremely fast. The knife hit the staff and it flew up and stuck into the roof. The man didn’t seem to be surprised at all, but he looked somewhat satisfied.

Yup…‘at’s him… the man thought to himself.

Chrono walked out the door and into the street. He started to walk to a nearby store. Little did he know the same man that attacked him was following him. He gave off a whistle and Chrono turned around with a flash to face him. In a nearby alley, a dart came and shot through the wind. It hit Chrono’s neck. He let out somewhat of a yell. He took the dart out and looked at it.

“What!!??” Chrono yelled as he looked at the man. “This is a magic tranquilizer!! Where did he get this!!??”

His vision started to get blurry. He fell to one knee, trying to withstand the drug that was rushing through his bloodstream.

“N…n…o... Where…How...did…he…get…one…of…these…” he said weakly as he fell to the ground, dead asleep.

The man laughed loudly and somewhat evilly. Two other men came from the alley the dart shot out from.

“Good work, boys,” the man said, still laughing. “Tachibana will be pleased…”

The men tied Chrono up in a sack and put him into a small, strange-looking cage. This cage was no ordinary one. This cage was made of pure diamond and had a magic barrier around it. Chrono wouldn’t be able to use his magic in this cage.

The three men went out of the town and went through nearby deep woods. The suddenly came out of it and came to a wasteland. Animal bones were scattered around in this desert. The walked some ways and came to a large white circle in the middle of the wasteland.

The lead man smirked and yelled out, “Hirogeru!!!!!

Suddenly, the ground beneath their feet began to shake violently. The ground began to crack, but only inside the circle. The ground broke up inside the circle and a hole appeared. The three men jumped into the hole with the cage with Chrono in it. A portal was in this hole. They fell through it and appeared in what seemed like a fancy room. But there was a cell. The cell seemed to have diamond bars, just as the current cage he was in had.

A tall, blonde haired man walked into the room. His hair length was down to the middle of his back and stuck out some in front. His eyes seemed to be outlined in black. His eyes were coloured red. He ran his fingers through his hair and flicked it up. Sparkles seemed to come from his hair as he flicked it. He grinned.

The three men bowed to him. “We have brought the one of time and dreams, Tachibana-sama.” they said.

“Good work, men. Now, I have no use for you anymore. Be gone!” Tachibana yelled, raising his hand up to the three. A blast came from his hand.

“W…W…WHAT!!??” The three men yelled and they suddenly disintegrated by the blast.

Tachibana smirked and began to chuckle. The chuckle turned into a laugh and the laugh turned loud and evil.

Tachibana kneeled down and opened the cage. He took out the sack with Chrono in it. He untied it and took him out of the sack. He began to laugh evilly again.

“The Black Demon Hearts will be so proud…they will promote me…the one that defeated them so long ago…I have captured,” he said as he brought Chrono to the cell and threw him in it.

“Mistress, I have the one.” he said out loud.

“Very good, Tachibana,” a female-ish voice filled the room. “One of my minions will be there in a few hours to pick you and Chrono up.”

After about thirty minutes, Chrono began to wake up. “W…wha…what happened?” he said as he slowly sat up. “Where am I?”

He began to look around. He stood up and stared at the bars of diamond. Chrono walked over to the bars and touched them.

“WAAAH!!!” he yelled as he felt a shock run through his body. He stepped back quickly. “What is up with that?” he yelled.

Tachibana walked in.

“W...Who are you!? Let me out of here this instant!!” Chrono yelled with anger.

“My, my Chrono…I am surprised…you don’t know who I am? I am Tachibana, from the Black Demon Hearts,” he said with a smirk.

“…T…The….THE BLACK DEMON HEARTS!!!!???? B…But I destroyed you all before!!!!!!” he yelled with worry.

Tachibana smirked, “We were revived. We don’t know how or why, but we knew we had to destroy you, before we did anything.”

Chrono just stared at him.

“Pathetic…just pure pathetic…you were captured by mere human beings,” Tachibana said. “You are just pathetic.”

Chrono glared at him and growled.

“Hmm…and that dream you had… it’s a prophecy… what do you think will happen? Do you know what it meant?” Tachibana asked with a smirk.

“H…How did you know…?” Chrono asked with surprise.

“You fool. I am of the Black Demon Hearts. I know when you have dreams and nightmares.” Tachibana said with a frustrated frown.

Chrono growled again. “Tell me what it meant…”

Tachibana smirked, “Why should I? Heh… you are just like your pathetic parents. Just as worthless.”

Chrono’s eyes widened and then an expression of anger appeared on his face. “Stop it…”

Tachibana grinned. “Yup… pure pathetic… even worse than humans…”

“No…that isn’t true!!!”

“Oh, but it is…you and I both know it.”

Chrono growled again and charged at the diamond poles, but was suddenly thrown back because of the force field. He growled again and charged at it, once again. But this time, he didn’t get thrown back, but pushed forward, barely getting anywhere.

“Fool! You won’t be able to break that barrier!!!” Tachibana yelled.

Chrono didn’t listen. He still pushed forward, being shocked and getting jolts of electricity running through his body.

“I won’t give up!!! I WON’T!!!” he yelled.

Tachibana’s eyes widened as he saw Chrono making progress. He took a step backwards, not meaning to. He suddenly saw a big transparent spirit like image behind Chrono. It seemed to look like a faint dragon. Chrono yelled as he pushed forward. He gave one final yell as he pushed more. He suddenly got through the barrier and the diamond bars broke with an explosion.

“W..W..WHAT!!??” Tachibana yelled, but then smirked. “Time for me to take my leave,” he said, and teleported away.

Chrono fell to the ground, with a feeling of accomplishment. But cuts were all over his body and clothes. He slowly got up and chuckled with one eye squinting. He walked towards the portal and went through it. He then suddenly appeared back in the town near the Blood Rose Inn. He walked in and looked at Keshi, knowing he could see the cuts on his body. He gave a thumbs-up to him and walked over to a table near Bulaklak’s table. He sat down and put his head on the table, trying to rest.
