Chapter CCCVII: Putting the Fire Out? A Sacrifice is Made ~Chrono

Chrono sat back when he saw Jeremy walk over to him. He looked at the cuts on his body when he heard Jeremy mention them. "Eh…I was kind of tranquillized...put in a cage with diamond bars and with a magic barrier, then put in a cell with the same magic barrier and same kind of bars…I couldn’t use my magic…at all…But…the Black Demon Hearts gang, my worst enemy and the ones who killed my parents, have been revived somehow. A guy named Tachibana, a general of the Black Demon Hearts trapped me there. I couldn’t get out… the barrier was electric as well. He started talking about my parents… and my anger blinded me… I pushed through the barrier and broke the diamond bars… but he suddenly disappeared,” Chrono said looking down. He growled and hit the table in frustration.

Chrono then stopped his story as he saw a person use magic and hit a guy in the back of the head with a glass. A big brawl suddenly broke out. Chrono sighed as a glass got thrown by him.

“Stupid humans…” he mumbled. He looked up at Redaz.

“I am about to leave this bar, and I think it would be in all of your best interests to do the same,” he heard Redaz say.

What the hell is he talking about? Chrono thought to himself.

He watched as Redaz walked to the exit. He broke into a run. Chrono gasped at the bottle he withdrew, knowing what it was. The bottle exploded. The bar went up in flames.

“Oh crap…” Chrono said as he saw everything go up in flames.

He smirked and got up from the table and walked over to Jeremy.

“Leave this to me!” Chrono said, spinning Jeremy around and placing his hands on his back. “You go outside. Cosmic Teleportation!” he yelled as his hands began to glow yellow.

Jeremy suddenly disappeared in a yellow flash and reappeared outside of the burning bar.

Chrono turned to Bulaklak who was just sitting there. “You too, girl,” he said, placing a hand on her shoulder, and making her disappear in a yellow flash of light, just as Jeremy did. Bulaklak reappeared right by Jeremy, in front of the burning bar.

Chrono smirked and looked around at the rising flames. His hands started to glow a blue color as he said, “Water is Fire’s worst enemy…”

But he suddenly stopped as he hear a child crying, then two more people rushed in. “What are those fools doing!?” Chrono yelled, following them. When he got to the second floor, he saw two people and one of them had a kid in his arms. Chrono looked up as he heard another cry for help. He flew upstairs as fast as possible. He came back downstairs with a middle aged woman and a small girl.

“All right you two, you need to get these people out of here. I will put this fire out.

Chrono looked to the entrance also as he heard the entrance collapse.

Greeeaaat…more energy wasting…” he said to himself.

He turned back to the two people and the child. “Both of you. You need to get out of here. Take these people to safety immediately...” Chrono said.

And before either of them could reply, he teleported them outside.

Chrono suddenly fell to one knee, but quickly got back up. He looked at the flames.

I don’t have much time… he thought to himself.

He made his hands glow by forcing energy out. Chrono then moved his hands in an arch like motion. A bow of ice suddenly appeared.

Alrighty…Let’s see here…” he said out loud.

He made an arrow of water appear. He placed it in the bow and pulled back on the tight wire and let go. The water arrow seemed to expand as it flew through the air towards the fire. The arrow seemed to be like a wave of water. It crashed into the wall and fire. But the fire wasn’t put out. Just stopped temporarily. It grew more.

“No… I am going to have to use all my strength for this one…” he said to himself.

He made many water arrows appear around him. Chrono then, suddenly, seemed to move in a fast circular movement, firing all the arrows as quickly as he could. The arrows expanded, and crashed into the walls. But still, it wasn’t enough to put the flames out.

“It’s no use…I have used my strongest water attacks…and…nothing...” he said to himself.

Chrono tried to teleport himself outside, but he couldn’t. “No…I have used too much energy…and I don’t have enough to get myself out of here…” he said, looking around for an exit.

He suddenly froze in shock as he heard a woman from outside yell, “My baby!! My baby is still in there!!”

The fire had died down enough to hear, but it quickly built back up. Chrono looked upstairs. He then ran up them. He kicked in all the doors of the inn, trying to find the baby. And finally, in one of the last rooms, he heard an infant cry. He ran into the room and scooped the baby in blankets out. He looked at the baby and smiled.

“You are getting out of here alive…” Chrono said, running back through the hall and down the stairs, still looking for an exit.

Suddenly, one of the pillars fell down and struck his right wing. Chrono yelled in pain. He looked at his wing and seen it had blood running down and dripping off the wingtip. He growled then looked down at the baby. Chrono had enough energy to make a small barrier around the baby.

“Good luck…” he said as he walked over to the collapsed entrance. The barrier with the baby floated out of his hands. There was a small hole at the top, just big enough for the baby to fit through. The baby floated out and into the arms of its owner.

Chrono smiled as he looked through the hole. He took a few steps back, knowing he couldn’t get out. He closed his eyes.

“Five… four… three… two… one…” Chrono counted. When he finished with one, the roof caved in and collapsed with Chrono in it.

The crowd outside gasped in fear. A big smoke and dust cloud arose as it collapsed. After about five minutes, the smoke cleared, with Chrono no where to be seen. The crowd gaped in shock as they saw the destroyed building. After about five more minutes, with no response, the crowd seemed to scatter slowly, going back to what they were doing, but the lady with the baby, stayed, staring in awe and said, "He... he risked his life for my baby..."

But then, a pile of wood on top seemed to move. A wood block rolled down the hill of the destroyed building. A hand popped out of the wood pile, then another. Soon after, a head could be seen. Chrono was actually alive, but had little success trying to get the rest of his body out. Chrono managed to get up to his neck.

“A…little…help…please…” Chrono said weakly, coughing somewhat.
