Chapter
CCCXXXI: So, What Now? ~Yoshi6400
A loud crash was
heard throughout the catacombs of
"Wow, that must have REALLY hurt..." 6400 commented as he stood over the charred remains of Mel.
"Good riddance, in my opinion," Kuroi said before she scuffed her boot through the remains, causing it to crumble into a pile of dust. "There wasn't even any special skill I could obtain from her. What a gyp."
Sapphire then walked over to join the two after sending Tamashii and Airashii back to where they came from. "We have the weapon. So, what now?"
"Well I guess we should topside before we do anything else," 6400 started. "But first I want a hug."
"You always want a hug..." Sapphire said before giving 6400 what he wanted. "But you earned it as usual."
Kuroi opened up a portal through the Shadow Dimension and began to step through it. "Well, I'll meet you two outside then. Seeya!"
"Hey, WAIT FOR US!" 6400 exclaimed, breaking the hug and running towards the portal. But by the time they got there, the portal had closed. "I guess we're going through the tunnels out."
"It doesn't
matter, Brian. The tunnels are all pretty and sparkly anyways." Sapphire grinned
before grabbing 6400's arm and running down a tunnel.
A while later, the two Yoshies reached the surface of Star Road, only to see Kuroi taking a nap by one of the "Junction Stars" that led to places across the Mushroom Planet and Planet Yamauchi. After a bit of poking and prodding, Sapphire and 6400 got her back into the world of the awake.
"Hey, I was having a nice dream. Just finished vaporizing Havering and casting a Circle spell on his essence...Also, what took you so long?"
"We ran into some wandering Drill Bits left over from the Smithy invasion years ago. They're gone now." Sapphire said. "I think I'm gonna like my new powers."
"Well, sorry to wake you up, but we still have to deal with the non-dream version of Havering," 6400 replied before patting Kuroi on the back. "You'll get your chance at him, but first we have to find the others."
"Well, at least I got an idea on how to get to the rest of the group, but I have to have a destination," Kuroi began. "Star Road is a tightly woven convergence of dreams, dimensions, and realities. Because of this, I can open up a portal ANYWHERE in the Shadow Dimension just by standing in certain places up here."
"Yeah, continue..." 6400 said in acknowledgement.
"If I knew a general location of somebody we know, I could open up a portal to the point in the Shadow Dimension corresponding to the location. Then when we leave the Shadow Dimension, we'll be there. Hey, it beats my usual method of jumping back and forth between dimensions to get to a far away destination," Kuroi continued, pacing around the place as she talked.
"How are we going to find the destination?" Sapphire asked, curious about what to do.
"Try walking around and concentrating." Kuroi explained, still pacing. "I felt the presence of Lich somewhere around here but I can't exactly figure out where to stand."
Sapphire and 6400 then joined Kuroihoshi in, the three eventually stopping in the same spot.
"Here." 6400 said with confidence. "I can feel the presence most right here. Plus that of a few others that are extremely faint."
Sapphire nodded in agreement before stepping back with 6400 to give Kuroi some room to make a portal.
"I guess it's back into the darkness again." Kuroi announced, "As usual, we gotta make sure we stay together, even in this short jump. It is Kurayami's domain as well and I don't think any of us are in the mood to meet him again, especially after his change..."
The three
Yoshies then jumped into the portal, headed to meet up with their friends.
