CCCXXXV: Reckless Responsibility ~Multehx
Still on the moors, many of the "Blood Rose Inn Gang", as crossed a few minds there, Scilas, Jaded, Keshi, and Kenzo, the travellers in the harsh land outside of town, where the others still resided, had been accounted for. Now, for those three still not yet.
D'Nel muttered under his breath irritably as he ran. Eventually, he shot an agitated look back to his partner...however, there was no sign of him. He skidded to a stop, his brow raising in confusion. "Where...did that trashcan go now..."
Still, not on the usual cue words, no Ray. The wind blew with a howl over the harsh terrain. An involuntary shiver travelled down the young man's spine in response.
A movement was
detected out of the corner of his eye. Turning towards it, he saw a figure against
the darkness. Not the familiar one of his friend. one
of a
hulking beast, fangs glistening even in the blackness. D'Nel's
eyes darted around the area hastily. Yes, there were at least twenty-six more,
slowly moving into a circle around him.
"Shit..."
he muttered through now clenched teeth. The first beast growled harshly,
starting its slow lumber in for the kill.

Ray frowned at the blue, cloaked Yoshi mage...wizard...person. "Man," he said, adjusting his shades, "You're a reckless one. Wandering off like that. You realize this is a monster infested area?! I mean, really!"
Rainy tried to say something, but Ray would just interrupt and rant a bit more. But one time, it was not the robot that interrupted his response, but the echo of gunfire from somewhere far away. From an automatic model, no doubt. Ray seemed to grow more serious at this.
Placing a hand on Rainstorm's shoulder, he calmly and decisively stated, "The others are in town by now. At least the Knight and the boy. I heard them leaving right as my partner and I were running off. Return there, run the entire way, do not look back. Kindly do not try to return, we will be there soon enough."
Then, he gave
the mage a hearty pat on the back before charging off in the direction the
shots came from in the first place.
