Chapter CCCLXXVIII: Dawdling in Darkness ~Redaz

Redaz was wandering away from the camp his companions had established. Whoever had been following them had evidently left, but something else was coming, he could sense it.

In the meantime, Redaz needed time to think. Since he'd joined the odd little group he'd fallen through a rip in space chasing a cannon on a truck. After losing that, he'd gotten bored waiting for the others. Then, they met and lost two or three other guys. After trying to find something to do, Jaded and Scilas had gotten beaten by something they hadn't wanted to talk about at the time, then they'd come back and met The Maestro. He hadn't done anything worth doing since he'd gotten here and he was beginning to get bored with being a hero; he wasn't going to miss out on the action next time.

As he was walking he felt something he hadn't felt since...well, since he came to this world. Someone must have made another rip in space-time. He couldn't help but think how amateurish a method it was to travel. Redaz continued on, the people who had come through the rip weren't what he had sensed coming.

The sky was slowly darkening, and it took him a moment to realise how close to town he'd come. Looking around, he realised the darkness was centered around the town. Whatever was coming was coming here.

"I thought this was going to be fun, but this place is beginning to reek of work, and duty," he said. He sniffed the air. "And I do mean reek, since when does something like this affect olfactory?"

He shook his head, this couldn't be good. He'd seen evil before, he'd known darkness, but nothing like this.

As he thought about it, it occurred to him that the coming events might manage to be a little fun after all. In a worst case scenario, he'd have an excuse to cause some wanton destruction. He hadn't done enough of that in a long time.

"Maybe some of the Wanderers know the specifics of what's going on. Scilas never did tell me what mopped the floor with him."

With that Redaz set out to find someone who knew what was going on before whatever was going on got any worse.
