Chapter CCCLXXXVI: Dominion Unreputed ~Multehx
Slowly, through the darkened streets, figures lumbered. Some clanking and rattling noisily, others humming with the dull buzzing of electrical energy. Still, some others, moving more in shadow, leaping from roof to roof, scrabbled along on claws, slithered, beat their leathery wings against the turbulent sky, or whatever other method of transportation they utilized. Several people looked out at them from their houses, curiously leaning out a bit further to take a peak. Such people often befell similar fates.
Some were fell upon by the sharpened, glistening broad swords of the personless knights. Some unlucky onlookers were grabbed from above and hoisted, kicking and screaming, over the edges of their rooftops and into alleys; others writhing, spasming upon the ground where they fell, energy coursing through their bodies wildly. And so, this unholy amassing traversed further into the city; no man left alive, women and children treated just as mercilessly, residents’ lifeblood running through the ditches alongside the streets. Screams filled the night air.

A winged gargoyle screeched in agony as a fatal line appeared along its side before spilling all contents under the pressure. The assassin ran on, deftly leaping gaps between houses, various minions of darkness falling to his glistening blade. Once and awhile he shot a look to the street below at his more "head on" companion, the mercenary, Jaded. He was, as Scilas was sprinting along the rooves and slaying creatures of evil, running along the cobble-stone streets. Metallic clashes echoed throughout the air as his broken-broadsword smashed into the metal of armor, scattering the pieces hectically about the streets, cleaving clean through the energy beings. Occasionally, the mercenary would wince in pain as his blade conducted some of the electricity, but he kept running and clearing a path down the street just the same.
We've got to be getting closer to the source by now. Scilas clenched his teeth as he ducked a swipe of a paw meant to take off his head, retaliating with his own weapon. Another bloodcurdling scream, another hulking form was knocked off the roof with a solid shoulder ramming. It crashed to the ground below with a sickening thud.
Jaded had to leap aside as the body landed where he had been standing moments before. "Hey! A little forethought!" he yelled angrily, falling back in a classic limbo position, hand bracing him from falling totally. As he sprung back up, he neatly took the helmet off an attacking meta-knight who had buried his sword in the pavement.
"Sorry," the assassin called back.

D'Nel's group fared no better. They were crowded into an alley, pressed against the stone wall of a collapsed house, hiding behind a pile of rubble. The Yoshies were talking amongst themselves, and Ray Noh was modifying his pistol, loading it with concussion rounds. The pirate-wannabe in loose command of this group frowned, straining with his ears to listen to the tell tale clanking of the marching metal animations going along the street.
He winced as several darker forms shot overhead, oblivious to their position. But still, it didn't make him any calmer.
