Chapter CCCLXXXIX: Second Wave: The Knights ~Multehx

The sky was reaching full storm level, wind howling, blowing fiercely, lightning flashing and leaping between clouds and within the spiral they formed above the entire town now. The knights stopped in their tracks. The Electrophorms' bodies convulsed briefly at a flux of massive power that surged through the air. The demons snarled and howled in bloodthirsty glee. A shaft of lightning from above brilliantly lit up the sky, pierced, separated the heavens, and struck the large dwelling at the epicenter of the chaos.

Several of the windows of the upper floor exploded outward in violent hails of glass shards, light violently streamed out from the open frames, clearing them of any jagged shards of glass that remained. The chamber in which the three stood filled with blinding light. Air rushed outwards from the arcane symbols painted upon the table in the center of it all. Vaurix stood his ground calmly, quite accustomed to fierce gales, though Malfector had to shield his face with a claw. A few steps away from the table stood Alfred, his hair blowing about wildly, his head tilted back in insane laughter as bolts of energy erupted from the table around a massive pillar of light that shot up seamlessly through the ceiling.

As it continued, a figure formed atop the table and deftly leapt to a corner of the room. The beam slowly altered in color and yet another, taller but wider in the face and body came into existence and jumped to a spot by the back wall. As tone changed again, he was joined by a similar looking gent, though slightly shorter and wider. The light slowly lessened and narrowed until it simply faded from view. The wind died down, everything settling back into its natural place.

Vaurix and Malfector frowned as they studied the newcomers, though Alfred grinned a twisted smile and walked casually over. "Gentlemen!" he grinned, taking their hands one by one and shaking them. "It is so good to see you all again."

The fellow at the head of the group nodded, his helmet resting firmly on his head. "It is, Professor."

The masked-man in the blue robes folded his arms, holding his ornate golden staff in a gloved hand. "Yes, life is truly wasted on the living."

His companion, the short, stocky red mask smirked. "And the minions of the master never truly die, remember."

"No," the blue one groaned, "only shoved aside, sorted in that alternate existence of his, for when we truly are called forth to serve again."

Alfred grinned, waving a finger. "But of course; and you know I wouldn't let you gents rot there and miss out on all the fun here."

"Heh, that's our Alfie," The lead man chuckled, tossing his cape deftly as he did.

"Well," red mask tapped the butt of his cane upon the floor, "aren't you going to introduce them?"

The professor chuckled, muttering something about shoddy manners as he walked over to the two robots. Gesturing to the one on his right, "This, gentlemen, is the Apocalyptic Storm of the Evil Infects; Vaurix Delezzah." They nodded and he indicated the taller, more behemoth-like one to his left. "This would be the Virus Infect, one of the most sophisticated beings of the line to date, Malfector."

Alfred stepped back to them and grinned. "Now, you two, allow me to introduce my fellow comrades; as we are all the grandly appointed Knights of the Time Bender, second only to the master himself in rank really." He grinned, tugging his bowtie out, straightening it. "As you already know, I would be Alfred Nsvem, master of all things electric, the first Knight."

The fellow next to him, before the other two, nodded and stepped forward, brandishing his unusual staff. "I am Baron Holograntis, lord of Illusion magik, second Knight."

The two at the rear took a step, nodding once. First, the blue one went. "Sorcerer Malus, Ice, third Knight."

"I am Sorcerer Spiite," followed the red mask bearer, "specialize in fire, fourth Knight."

Alfred grinned. "And, number five won't be joining us tonight, most obviously, gentlemen."

A knowing snicker and several heads nodded about the group.

Vaurix shrugged, heading for the door. The professor called out to him, causing him to stop and turn slightly. "I'm not much for group affairs; I'm goin’ somewhere in this place."

Malfector nodded, heading for the door, walking past the other robot. "Good idea; I must be vigilant over the gateway now."

As he departed, Vaurix shrugged, following. "Why not, I'll join ya. Don't wanna miss anything."

Alfred watched the two head off, and then turned back to the rest. "Well, shall we finish what the troops have started?"

The Baron smirked, twirling his staff expertly. "I think I could do with some action; being shelved has made me irritable."

The other two nodded in unison.

"Well, let this world tremble in terror, as it is smitten by the might of the master and falls to his grand scheme." He grinned, heading for the door himself. "Come, fellows, let us ready it for his arrival and have it by then."
