Celeste
Name:
Queen Celeste el Morendath ap Rinuf ap Ar'sul'oir de Einan
Age:
She stopped counting after 2315 years, yet her humanesque
form looks around 18.
Race:
Celeste is actually a dragon who decided that space was getting a little too
cramped for a full draconic body, and so decided to take on a human form with
some special features.
Physical Appearance:
Humanesque - She stands about 5'8, with
knee-length golden blonde hair that resembles liquid sunlight. Her eyes are
narrow, horizontal slits with sparkling emerald green irises. Her skin is pale,
and her features well defined. She wears a body suit of golden scale armor that cuts off at her elbows and ankles. Golden boots
shield her feet. Atop her head she wears a golden circlet inset with precious
gems, a representation of her station. A pair of golden,
leathery wings attatched to the middle of her back.
Draconic - As can be accurately assumed, Celeste is a golden dragon. She
measures about 30 yards in length, and just about 10 yards in height. Her eyes
remain the dark emerald green color, and she retains
the typical claws, jaws and tail to be used as alternative weapons, if the
sight of her isn't enough to send foes running.
History:
A good portion of Celeste’s history can be learned through the story of
"The Dragonslayer." Yet since she won’t
tell that story, much of her past is lost to any who may meet her. All that is
known of her, is that she was chosen as Queen after
the previous King died, and thus left her as Eldest. Her job as Queen is not
really as demanding as it sounds, although she is responsible for sorting out
the major problems of the Soul Library, as well as taking on special missions
to different places.
Home Planet:
Celeste dwells on the dragon-inhabited planet of Telapse.
On that planet, she lives on the continent of Nal, in
the city of
Weapons:
Her main, and really only functioning weapon is a bow that she can summon and unsummon at will. It is a composite shortbow
made from the talon of a dragon's claw, with strange symbols etched into the
length of it. The string itself is made from a dragon's heartstring, enchanted
to release accuratly with each and every shot. She
also carries with her a sword in its sheath. It remains always by her side, and
she rarely ever draws it, unless for some reason she is showing it to someone.
However, it will never be used for combat. It is named "The Dragonslayer" and Celeste will not tell the story of
just why she named it such. She guards this sword with her very life and allows
no one else to touch it.
Abilities:
Celeste has mastery over her ability to shift from humanesque
form to her full draconic form, as well as a personal specialty in Psy Magick. She is able to create
balls of energy to be used for various purposes, such as light, shielding, and
attacking. And she can fly. If you didn't know that, you have a problem. Also
the fact that she is a golden Dragon, she has holy magick
meaning she can heal as well as use it offensively. In her full form, she can
also breathe fire and fry things.
Anything Else:
The Soul Library -
It is very rare for a Dragon’s soul to expire before its pre-determined time.
Bodies are merely shells that carry the soul, and can be replaced as many times
as a Dragon sees fit. However, their souls are already set to live a certain
number of years, and it is very unusual for a Dragon’s soul to die with their
body. These Dragons whose bodies die, have a choice. They may return to a newer
body, or should they wish to forsake physical life for a time, they have the
option to be catalogued in the Soul Library in Einan.
All those returning to a physical body, are still kept track of, and the record
of their souls filed away, including their location should they ever need to be
found again.
Yet there are some souls who have been lost in the massive shuffle of
paperwork, as well as those souls who have lost their bodies before the Soul
Library was established. There are four jobs within the Soul Library, other
than Celeste’s job as Queen.
Soul Searchers - whose jobs are exactly like they sound. Their job is to
seek out all the lost souls that have been floating in space between the worlds
for thousands of years before the Library was created, as well as those souls
lost among the paperwork.
Soul Harvesters - are the Dragons who are responsible for cataloging
those souls who do not wish to return to a physical body. They decide which
precious gemstone is best suited for holding their soul, labeling
the stone, and filing it away as well, also providing the proper documentation
for which stone belongs to the soul of which Dragon.
Soul Distributors - are those Dragons who are little more than the paper
pushers of the group. These Dragons find proper bodies for the souls wishing to
return to physical form, and record the reason for the previous body’s demise.
They are responsible for keeping track of all the paperwork provided by the
Dragons in other departments, as well as their own. These are the Dragons that
are blamed should a soul be lost due to improper filing.
Soul Watchers - this is probably the easiest job among the Soul
Librarians, and thusly the most underestimated. These Dragons sit back and
observe those Dragons who have been given another physical body, to make sure
that it is not being abused in any way, and to affirm that those souls are
worthy of another body. They require no paperwork, except for the Lead
Watcher who is required to provide the paperwork approving of the supply of
bodies to returning souls.
