Markior

Name: The Markior

Full Name: Markior Archonius Xel'Naga Grey

Age: Unknown, ages have started counting since his revival of the Yoshian species, 3003 years ago.

HomePlanet: None. He's a space-born entity. He's linked to Jupiter, though, seeing as how it was from this planet's core that his parents, the last of the Xel'Naga, created him. He was the third of the Xel'Naga's creations, the Xel'Naga being a species obsessed with creating the perfect lifeform.

History: Longer version then original: Created as a demonic entity by error, he killed his parents's worldship shortly after his "birth". He chose a name for himself, combining parts of important names of history from Earth. He began rampaging through the universe, destroying planets in his path. Cursed by three beings of the far future, (incidentilly Yoshian), he lost a share of his power and attained the will to not do acts of destruction anymore.

Attaining an Archon-like shape, he landed on the Protoss Homeworld of Aiur and was accepted into the Light Protoss community. Unknown to him, the War of the Tribes was just starting then. Working together with the Templars Khas and Adun, he retrieved the first Khaydarin Crystal from it's hiding place. He, Tassadar and Fenix, both Tassadar and Fenix very young of age back then, were captured and put into Stasis by the COnclave. Aiur changed dramatically over the years, as all Dark Templar were banished to Shakuras. Years after, he was freed from his Stasis prison and went on a rampage again, only to be recalled away to Shakuras.

He met up with Zeratul and got tutored in the ways of Darkness. Having attained a vast knowledge of Light powers on Aiur, accompanied by his Champion-like abilities of the psychic path, he soon learned about the power called "Total Grey", a power that combined both Darkness and Light into a great force. A fellow student of Zeratul, a Dark Templar called Ulrezaj, grew frustrated and intensly jealous of this "outsider"'s abilities. After a number of years, his jealousy had grown beyond control and he blurted out his vile feelings towards the Light Protoss religion. Markior, still cursed by the three Future beings, couldn't stand this soul of evil, and left Shakuras. Ulrezaj disappeared into a time rift.

Markior made his way to Yamauchi and found the Yoshian species, extinct by a great, indescribable holocaust. Sensing immense capabilities and a grand future in these creatures, he sacrificed half his power to revive the Yoshian race. This act caused him to be the first to "commence". His psychic capabilities of a Protos Archon were chosen as his element, and he commenced into the Yoshian God of the Mind.

He became guardian spirit of the Yoshian race, and everything went well. Years passed... He built his Lair atop of Yoshi's Island's highest mountain, and it was feared by all, never to enter that place. Thus, keeping away from his people, he could act in quietness without him ever noticing.

After a few years, he received a distress call by the Protoss, to aid them in a battle of life and death against an untill then unknown enemy. The Zerg, the second creation of the Xel'Naga. Aiding them in their battle, he was once again greeted by his friends Tassadar and Fenix, who had come out of stasis, but without memory of anything that had happened in those long years ago.

Due to Tassadar's great sacrifice, by sending the Flagship carrier "Ganthritor" into the monstrosity that was the Zerg Overmind, the Protoss species was saved from being assimilated by the Zerg. Aided in their quest by Humans, the Protoss thanked Markior for his help. During the battle, the Dark Templar were once again embraced by their Light Templar counterparts, and both Light and Dark Protoss were reunited. Thus, Markior no longer felt the hatred of the two against one another, and once again became part of the Protoss empire.

Departing from Aiur, he found out his Lair was taken over by a large bird named Raphael the Raven. The Yoshies had destroyed the Bird on a meteorite, so he could once again reclaim his Lair, unseen by anyone. This time he locked the door.

Soon after his return, he received another distress call by Artanis, a Templar. It seemed the fight against the Zerg had only begun. Kerrigan, Queen of Blades, an infested human assimilated by the Zerg, led an attack against the Protoss in which Fenix was killed. Markior arrived on the barren desert planet Korhal just too late. Watching the blue liquid that contained the body of Fenix from his dragoon shell soak away in the sand, he vowed to bring Kerrigan to a halt, and take revenge for his best friend's death.

However, the efforts of the Protoss were in vain. The planet Aiur was taken over by the mindless Zerg, and Markior and his brethren stayed on Shakuras. Markior began planning on the counterstrike. He left the planning in the hands of Zeratul to check up on his people.

A number of other events happened around this time, like the great Yoshi/Koopan war. He secretly made a pact with King Bowser, ruler of the Koopas, gaining peace after a long era of strife. Sharing the mutual interest of chess, Bowser and Markior were far from enemies at this point, however, Bowser would never change his ways, not even under a small threat of Markior.

It was a shortly after that when Golden Robo Yoshi appeared, and struck down upon the Yoshian community like lightening. Markior and his team of Spawned Yoshies, each a champion of a single power in their own rights, made their first appearance in Protoss Scouts within the floating complex of Golden Robo Yoshi, helping the heroes through the maze. Markior battled along against the evil creation, but weakened after the Zerg war, he was knocked out of the fight shortly. After that, Yoshi007 destroyed the robot in an epic sword-fight.

Ulrezaj had returned long ago from this point, merged into a Dark Archon with three of his followers. Ulrezaj quickly became Markior's rival in power, and both beings clashed numerous times in battle.

Years passed, and he didn't hear from the Protoss until one faithful day. A Xel'Naga Temple had appeared on Aiur. Investigating it, he once again encountered Ulrezaj. Inside the Xel'Naga temple, he was pulled to Zolott... And from there, it's history.

Xel'Naga shape: Attained in WWMA after his first death, he learned the ways of the Xel'Naga in the Nexus, the heaven of the immortals. Either like Archon or Yoshi shape, he carries a golden shoulder shield and Xel'Naga cape, as well as an amulet around his neck. A grey essence surrounds his form like this. Height: +/- 7.0 ft.

Abilities: Abilities differ in power with each form. He knows basic spells like Psionic Storm, and Maelstrom and such, but has his own attacks like Psionic Blasts and The Tassadar Attack, named after the hero. He can fly, has the ability to teleport and can mind-read, sometimes unintentionally so, since he's the Yoshi God of the Mind.

Anything else: Markior's usually a little stubborn and very serious, plagued with some horrifying experiences and memories at one point, though sometimes light-hearted and peaceful at other times. He's enraged soon when in battle, and uses it to his advantage, though it sometimes works as a disadvantage too. He's proud, wise, nostalgic and has a very great sense of destiny.
