Chapter XXVIII: Home No More-Artemis Evangelina

How did our forest get stuck in a mess like this, anyhow? Fang asked Artemis as they ran through the forest.
I honestly don’t know Fang. Maybe this letter from Kamiko will explain it all, but I’m not going to read it until we get back to my hut, and I can make sure all the animals are all right. She replied. A small breeze passed over Artemis, and she sniffed the air.
Do you smell what I smell, Yatina? Fang inquired. Artemis tightened her grip on his fur slightly, and replied,
Yes, I smell the fear of many, many animals. We had better hurry Fang; I bet there are a lot of them at my hut, waiting for an explanation. Fang picked up his pace, and not much later, the two arrived at Artemis’ hut. When she got off of Fang’s back, a stream of animals came running at her.
Yatina, what is going on? A mother rabbit asked while she comforted her little babies. Before Artemis had a chance to reply, a sudden wind passed overhead, sending quite a few birds far from their perches atop her hut. Then, as Artemis was making sure everyone was all right, the sky was alight with all the colors of the rainbow, resembling the ‘aurora borealis’, or northern lights. The light soon disappeared as quickly as it had come, and the normal blue skies returned.
Yatina, what just happened? A young robin asked from the roof of her hut.
It must be Kamiko. Artemis lied. To be safe however, I don’t want anyone wandering too far. Do not leave the forest until I say otherwise, is that clear? The animals all nodded, and dispersed.
Great lie. Fang said coolly. Artemis scowled at him, and entered her hut, sitting down on her bed despite all her equipment on her back. She removed the letter from her boot, and ripped it open, pulling out a letter whose writing glowed an eerie yellow. She then started to read:

My dear Artemis,
I hope the dimension jump wasn’t too awful for you or the animals. As of late, I have not had an opportunity to speak with you on this matter, but my powers have been blocked from reaching you because of a man that passed through the forest not too long ago. He is a man with evil intensions, and is the one responsible for your being trapped in the new dimension. This letter was only able to reach you because of good ol’ C.R. I know you are confused on many of these matters, my young ward, as am I. There will be someone to help you though. His name I do not know, but I do know that he is mysterious, very hard to find, and is in your area right about now. So, I shall now leave you to go seek this person. Due to the dimension jump, I can no longer watch over you, so please be careful. I expect a full report upon your return. Take care, my precious ward. Give Fang my regards.
-Friend in Faith,
Kamiko-

We’re in another dimension Fang. Artemis told her wolf companion bluntly.
Oh, wonderful, let’s invite our new neighbors over for tea. He replied sarcastically. Artemis cracked a smile, and stuffed the letter into her boot. She then stood up, and patted Fang on his head.
Go check up on everyone Fang. I have someone to find. Artemis told him. The wolf walked out of the hut.
"How do you go about finding someone who’s supposed to be very hard to find?" She asked herself. She exited her hut, and walked to the small lake behind her hut, following the stream that flowed into it.
"Well, everyone has to stop for water sometime." She muttered as she trudged upstream in search of this mystery man.
