Chapter LVIII: Multiple Personalities -Havering
The dull fires from the cracks in the cavern floor burned with an unceasing dull resonance. Unlike many other caverns, no water dared drip from the stalagmites which hung over head. Though such may have seemed like a natural wonder and a place many would visit just to glimpse the undying flames, no mortal had tread upon the rocky ground of the chamber in centuries. That isn't, however, saying that no one had walked upon that ground in the duration. In fact, just inside the single, low arched entry way stood a figure now. His eyes stared straight accross the chamber, unblinking, and his mouth moved not a fraction open, as he held this odd vigil. The only sound even remotely occuring near the being was a low tapping of something with a sharp edge upon the ground a bit behind him, and the gentle sound of movement in the air above it. Still, for being the only invading sound, even this held an odd quality of silence and respect.
But this lone figure was not focused upon the blazes of unearthly hues, nor the almost silent hiss of steam from cracks in the floor. His eyes were trained upon the far side of the room, beyond the flames from a ragged gash in the rocky ground. Looking upon something just over a slightly raised portion of the cave floor, which formed an oddly professionally made dias. Something...that hung motionless in the air, in the far recess of the cover of shadows. Something...that could almost say was staring back...
"Well...I see you're here once again." a voice from the entry way broke the silence. The figure turned and laid eyes upon another. One who seemed to be smirking, even though the lower portion of it's face was covered by a length of cloth which made up the high raised collar of a shadowy black cloak, which was tinted with hues of red in spots. The first figure narrowed his eyes and the taping behind him ceased, being replaced by the sound of something lingering almost, but not quite motionles in the air. "What buissness is it of yours where I am? I was lead to believe you only kept track of query." the first figure said dryly. The black cloaked figure's grin took an edge of sly smugness on itself, though nothing below the nose was visable due to the odd collar. "Take it as you will, Time Bender, but all you hear isn't always the complete story." "That's the most simple statement I've heard from you. Haven't you gained any finesse?" the first figure retorted, folding it's own cape around itself. The second laughed slightly. "And I take it you still look down upon us, mighty seer, for we still use what you call "unimaginative" methods. Still feel you'd be soiling your hands by taking action as we do, Hah-Vhir-Rhihnng?" For the first time in ages, Sir Pseudo Havering grinned. "Indeed, oh blood loving Tr-" Havering was cut off by an extended hand from the second demon "Shame shame, Hah-Vhir-Rhinng. You know very well what happens to those who say my name aloud. In this most holy room especially; Be they high Seventh Circle or mere Crescentine Devotes, it matters not." Havering bowed in a flourished apology, his smile still lingering. "My humble apologies, Sir Assassin of The Seventh Circle. I will not press the word further. Now come, tell me why you've been searching for me." The one known as The Assassin nodded and turned slightly, glancing down the tunnel leading out of the chamber. "Seems you have a visitor." Havering's smile quickly turned to a puzzled look. "A visitor for me? Who needs to see me?". The dull tapping sound reinstated itself with a dull rhythmic pattern to the backgorund. The Assassin folded his arms and glanced back to Havering. "One of your works. The metallic masterpiece of yours." With these words a dull, metallic echo grew louder from the tunnel. Both Demons turned as the massive figure ducked through the doorway and stood at full height. "..Havoc...why are you HERE?" the Time bender demanded, his jovial mood once again sinking away and being replaced by the harsh, unwavering glare that had called his face home since demonkind could recall. "I..just found myself here...somehow." Havering turned his glance to the other demon who shook his head and raised his hands. "That's pretty accurate really. He just appeared in the main hall, right around behind where you usally sit." Havering returned his glance to the robot, then back to the Assassin before finally drawing a breath and starting for the entryway. "..Follow me."he directed before leaving the sanctum of the fires. The two others followed suit with only slight hesitation, and the last; the eternal watcher...remained behind.
--------------------------------
After hours of following the enigmatic demon through winding tunnels, massive rock chambers, across a barren wasteland on the outside of them all, and finally to the edge of a grey sea, where rocks lie abundant, did the three stop. Ratch was about to question why Havering stood motionless with the surf barely touching his boots and staring out to sea when a hand on his shoulder stopped him. "Don't interrupt a person when they're in the middle of conjuring. Extremely rude to do, and not that smart around us Demons.". The last part was added with a bit of an evil grin, and instead of argue Ratch knew this would be a time to just say nothing and see what he could learn. As Havering stood, the air infront of him wavered and seem to dispell, and was replaced by an opaque, blue nothingness. "Rhak..Fenrizgik..Jhounjrveckrin." the Time Bender chanted, and the blueness quickly was replaced by multiple images of various locations and events. The one that almost sent him into a rage was of his own self, giving numerous explanations to the red, Dark Archon, Ulrezaj. Both The Assassin and Ratch took a cautionary step back as Pseudo continued to look from image to image. "That...interfering..FOOL!! he DARES to rearrange my plans? My dwelling place? MYSELF?! He's pushed into relms from which no soul shall escape my Da*nation!!" the demon bellowed, the very rock under his boots oddly becoming scorched as if by an etherial heat. "Hah-Vhir-Rhihngg! Ease your rage, Time Bender. Action in anger can cost-" This time it was The Assassin who was cut off. "..the goal. Yes, I know." Pseudo said, a bit calmer this time and extended a hand towards the visions. "No event will knock me out of my right, thinking mind completely. I shall deal with these numerous occurances immediately...starting with this alien.."
With an extention of his gloved fingers in a series of Demonic Sygils, a faint blue glow appeared around the image of one of his numerous projections of himself onto a physical plane, and the Protoss Archon. "This one...has served his usefull intentions. He is disposable now.."
With a sudden jerk of his wrist and a snap of his finger, the embodiment of himself in the image suddenly ignited in a blaze. The Time Bender hardly batted an eye as he watched what looked like himself burning until there were no remenants but ash. And then, with a slight grin he turned his attentions to yet another image of himself. "My my..seems another of my embodiments has taken the initiative and is going on where the last left off." Havering grinned. Indeed, another of the images did show yet another embodiment of Sir Pseudo Havering sneering at a multicolored lizard with wings. "Hah! Now this one looks as if he shall be a good one indeed. He may just succeed." The Assassin frowned in thought at that statement. "Why..make all the living embodiments; all the humanoid extentions of yourself. You hold a substantial amount of power already- Why not go down and take care of it in person?"
Pseudo simply turned on his heels and looked his fellow demon in the eye. "Perhaps", Havering grinned, "I have a few times. Perhaps I will. When and where i shall go, and our current location is all in one location. No computer, nor book, nor written account has, shall or will ever hold my plans for that reason. None of my extentionaries will either. That information, my friend, shall remain here." he said with a tap of a finger on his head. "Now I suggest you prepare a drink, for the real show is about to commence!" The Egnimatic, Demonic Time Bender grinned in a way that shown both of his canines. "Indeed...the fun shall begin very soon.."
