Chapter LX: Rendezvous With Mr Delezzah -Multex707
Multex glanced at the girl. She apparently knew something about his home planet and dimension, though how he was currently unsure of. "Not of the Eternalists; wiped that cult out. Can't be one of Pseudo's lackeys...as there's just something about them that radiates it. Possibly another Bounty Hunter come for the check on my head, but even if so...she's not the every day killer.." he mentally argued, trying to deduce what he could from every aspect of this human. Her clothing had a look of some era long passed, and the bow she carried was all the more crediting to that fact. "Still...some Hunters do have their own styles, dating back a few hundred years, for originality and notability.." his mind pressed on, keeping his senses fully alert. "Yeah. I am." he finally answered her.
The look of some odd kind of joy she expressed at his answer threw his reason yet another curve ball and totaly perplexed him. But, being quick with responses, Multex was already straightening his bowtie and turning to walk off within the minute. Until he felt a hand on his shoulder. The agent nearly shuddered, represing the almost occurant reaction to grab the hand by the wrist and deftly knock the footing out from it's owner as his defensive reactions tended to go. But this time he didn't even move. "..I'd love to stay and talk but I have matters to attend to, miss." "I'm coming along." the girl declared in a manner Multex was used to as a woman's determination. That was one force he tended to treat with a distant respect and caution. With a groan and a few muttered words, the agent threw up his hands then let them fall against his sides. "Fine...just keep outta my way. I have things that need to be done." he bluntly stated starting up his pace once again. Some how, he got the odd feeling the girl may have been smiling..
------------------------------------
For once since he set boots upon this strange world, Multex was grinning as he felt the exhilerations of feeling on territory he could handle. "Now THIS! This is a nice surprise!" Multex declared, taking in the town in full observance. The agent had expected this place to be some aged, dirt road domain of hicks, drunks, and grungy low class types. What his eyes were telling him, was he was on the edge of small town life a good few years in the future. He didn't even take a moment to glance at the girl's expression, or try to explain, as his eyes took in a deep breath of all the sights. It was a town he could get to like! Lampposts with the five lights arranged with four and one in the middle, with the ornate spiral carved in the metal, which was even coloredlike the old black metal used in those of olden days! Sidewalks with a slight border of grass, green as anything! Smooth metal plated streets, with one or two vehicles resembling some of the older models of auto mobiles, but with a bit of Paralell Earth's still developing Hover Rail technology fenders. Even the buildings had a nice modernesque touch, with a mix of country/suburban Globeston to them. And in the evening light- THIS was one helluva town! Multex's ideal of a place to go to just blow off the stress of your job and to meet with a few friends for a few snacks and drinks at some cafe or restaurant. And oddly enough, one of the previous was motioning for him to come over at just that moment. "Well, took you long enough." Vaurix smirked, though of course, robots of his type always tended to lack an actual mouth. "And they say you're quick on the job." Multex rolled his eyes and gave the robot a jab in the shoulder with a dull clang. "Oh shut up. You tend to be a bit slower when you don't have wings grafted into you, and you've got an old "friend" trying to punch through your ribs and toss you by the spine." The bounty hunter winced slightly and shook his head. "That's gotta be one of the reasons I'm glad to be metal all the way." "It has disadvantages as well, but we ain't here to discuss life's little problems for us, right?" Vaurix nodded. "Right, full report of the terrain-Hello, who is *this*?" Multex raised a brow and turned, finding the girl now standing a few feet behind him. "Uh..That would be a human.." Vaurix threw up his arms in an exaggerated gesture. "Well that's OBVIOUS! But A girl, young, kinda nice lookin for a human, and she seems to be followin you, Texxy boy. Found yourself a catch from another race? Eh?" Vaurix grinned, earning a fist upon the shield plate attached to his head. "No, Numbskull! She's been taggin after me for some reason, now can we get down to work or what?" Multex demanded impatiently. Vaurix gestured towards the enterance of the building he was leaning against. "After you. And mind, you're treating." the robot smirked.

After the initial period of drinking in the atmosphere of the pub, The agent finally returned to ponder on what his mind was reviewing. "So...forest nearly all around here, some plains past them to the west, to the north fading to rocky wasteland,..and some *what* north east of the forests??" Vaurix shook his head and downed the rest of his glass over his mouth and chin plate with a slight slurping noise. "Like i said, I was surveying these odd, extremely forrested areas along this ravine, which then melded to a hill, still lots of trees, and some sort of MASSIVE building. Looked like a church or mansion or some estate. I tried to near it but..well, something fried my internals." Vaurix shook his head and stared the agent straight in the eyes. "Here's the odd part. Every time I pulled away from that church building...bang! My systems were back at peak!" "What? How the heck can *that* happen?" Multex blinked. "I don't know, i just know it did." Multex glanced back at his soda glass, then over to the elderly gent tinkering away on the piano. "Sounds like it might be a nice time for me to start goin back to church." the agent mused, then glanced over his shoulder towards the girl who still stood near the doorway. "Just gotta figure her out a bit too.."
