Chapter LXIV: The Path to Answers -Artemis

He had been looking at her for a very long time, most likely trying to decide if she was friend or foe. Finally, he had told her that, indeed, he hailed from Parallel Earth. Her deep violet eyes shone with joy, and she smiled brightly. There were hundreds of questions that she wanted to ask him, but wasn’t even given the chance to open her mouth before the creature was up on his feet, preparing to walk away from her. Artemis sighed mentally; this was going to be one tough time. She trotted up behind him, making sure all her weapons were equipped and, placed a hand on his shoulder. She felt him tense up, as if he wanted to hit her, but she stood her ground. The creature started to ramble on about how he had things to do.
"I’m coming along." She replied shortly, her voice filled with determination. To her surprise, he didn’t argue with her, but told her to stay out of his way, since he had things to be done. Artemis smiled, and followed behind him as he walked to the edge of the forest.
Fang, I did it, I have found him. We’re going on an adventure Fang, please be good and watch over the forest, okay? Artemis told her wolf guardian, who was most likely back at the hut.
I will do that Yatina, take care of yourself, and come back safely. May Kamiko guide you. He replied. Artemis sighed softly, and said a soft protection spell for the forest and her friend before she stepped over the boarder between her world, and a grand adventure.

The creature named Multex had not said one word to her since they left the forest, but this didn’t bother Artemis much. She was having too much fun looking around at the scenery of what she took as part of another dimension.
"Now this! This is a nice surprise!" Multex exclaimed as they stood close to the entrance to a small town. Artemis’ eyes lit up in awe as she looked at it. It was like nothing she had ever seen! It still had the feel of a town just out of her time, but yet it was different. There were lights, which were not lit by the light of a candlewick, and objects that looked like carriages with four wheels and no horses. It was a very charming place, and looked like the palace of Kamiko himself, when it was all lit by the gods, and goddesses auras. A small pang of longing stabbed at her heart, and she muttered a small prayer to Kamiko. The creature started to walk into the town, and Artemis followed him.

A creature soon stopped them, which was much like Multex in some ways. He had that same metallic luster that shimmered around the creature’s red eye. Apparently, this new creature and Multex knew each other, since they were engaged in a friendly conversation. Artemis chuckled softly at herself, since the conversation didn’t seem so friendly to her, but Multex wasn’t a friendly creature, so it was reasonable. She hadn’t been paying much attention to their conversation, since she was gazing around this town. She immediately deduced that she liked it much better than the town she had been raised in for part of her life. Artemis shuttered, mentally cursing herself for bringing that up. She didn’t have much time to think about it though, because the two creatures were entering the nearby building, which Artemis recognized as the town pub. Neither of the two creatures thought to invite her to join as they sat down at a table in the back, so she stood near the doorway, hoping that Multex would soon invite her to discuss Parallel Earth, and the current status of her dimension.

Artemis must have been standing there for a fairly long time, waiting to be invited inside. She was growing very impatient; something that happened very rarely, and she wanted to demand that the creature answer her questions. She had trekked long and hard through her forest to find him, and yet rarely did he say anything to her. This Multex was the most stubborn creature she had ever met, worse than Fang even! Soon after, Artemis caught the slight glance of Multex, looking at her. It wasn’t much of a glance, since he looked back at his companion not even a second later. That was the last straw, she was going to get him to talk to her willingly, or she’d make him talk to her.

Artemis walked into the pub, ignoring all the glances she was getting from the men as she walked right up to the table that Multex and the other creature sat. The one creature looked up at her, while Multex ignored her completely, continuing his conversation. She glared at him, and put her hands on her hips, looking down at him.
"Will you speak with me now? There are some things I wish to ask you." She asked him. Multex barely even looked at her, and waved his hand in a dismissal sort of way.
"Later, I’m busy." He replied shortly. Artemis’ violet eyes flamed with anger at such impudence, and turned to the other creature, remorse in her voice as she said,
"I apologize in advance if I hurt you." He looked up at her in confusion for a split second before Artemis quickly shoved the creature out of his chair, and grabbed it before it could fall, righting it, and sitting down. Artemis folded her hands in front of her, and stared into the red, and diamond-shaped eye of Multex.
"I wish to speak with you. Now." She said coolly, mentally chuckling at the very brief sense of shock she saw in him, before he quickly turned serious again.
