Chapter XCI: All Part of the Business ~Multex

Multex hastily drew the Quicksilver in an instant and stared the doctor in the eyes; the pistol nearly close enough to touch her. "I'm not some science project, so kindly get it through your head, give the required ten feet personal space, and if you're going to follow, you're doing it at your risk." the agent bluffed the last part, knowing that, regretfully, as long as they were in hearing distance, he was required to protect them. Damn...why am I getting stuck with all these people! I work SOLO or with A partner; two maximum. Now this is like a dang parade of adventure seeking wannabees. Multexian luck strikes again..." Multex mentally groaned, pocketing his pistol and shoving past the doctor, who was apparently still jumpy from his slight of hand, and continued on past the reploid, beginning down the path.
Walking at his usual, "I'm in a bad mood, back off or loose an appendage" brisk pace, he glanced over his shoulder to see the others trying to catch up with him, whispering a bit about him most likely. However, his attentioned snapped back to the present situation as one of the scanners in his left eye indicated a mechanical life form up the path a good ways ahead. "And..a humanoid with it. Neither seem very powerful-" Multex suddenly stopped in his tracks, a look of abject realization on his face. "Oh for the love of god...say it isn't *those* clowns..."
Unfortunately, as the distance was closed, Multex's suspicions prooved correct. On the path ahead stood a young man in an oddly flourescent, yet some how stylish red jacket with blonde hair, blue pants and boots with steel reinforcements, arguing with a very large, capsule shaped body with all the proper limbs, and a prominant pair of large, black sun glasses where it's eyes would have been.
"MY fault?! YOU were the one who bloody suggested we take the rip hole- that it 'might lead us to a big haul'!" The robot yelled, waving it's arms in the process. "Well YOU'RE the one whose supposed to scan the situation for eminant danger as easily as blinking!" "How in hades would I have known it would strand us in the middle of NO planet we've ever been on just by looking it it?!"
"Don't you two ever get a clue?", A third voice questioned, causing robot and human to turn and face the spherical bodied form of Multex707. "YOU!! MULTEX! How in the blazes did you FIND us?!" the young man exclaimed, taking a half fighting stance. "I didn't come for small timers like you, 'Nelly'. I've got more important people to take down. Why don't you and your english voiced tinker toy move aside and don't give me any grief." The young man's face reddened almost instantly. "Stop calling me that! The name is D'NEL, D'NEL! And we're the greatest treasure pillagers in the multiverse!" The robot glared and as well, chipping in, "Call me anything less than a robot and I'll rip *your* arms off for a change, Agent!"
Multex raised a brow, slightly smirking. "You threatening me, Ray-Noh? Think that the sixteenth try's gonna be your lucky one? I'm not in a good mood so you're already way behind and buried in my wake. But if you want to help me blow this steam, then fine by me, let's get to it." D'Nel glared into the eyes of Multex707, his long time thorn in every one of his plans for "the ultimate treasure heist". Every attempt made by the pair at a decently large haul had been thwarted by the sarcastic agent from Parallel Earth, and each time, they had been let to escape with the knowledge that Multex could come for them at any time he wanted. "Fine! Ray Noh- Ready your battle systems...and do try to give the audience a good show!" he added with a dashing grin directed over Multex's shoulder. "I'm sure the lovely ladies would rather accompany us than this crude barbarian." Glancing over his shoulder, Multex now saw that the group had stopped a good few feet back and were trying to figure out if they should draw their weapons or not. The agent gritted his teeth in agitation. Oh joy...fighting the clowns AND giving a free show to the campers...I am not, not, NOT getting paid enough for this.."
By that time, a noticable red glow; a sort of aura, had formed around the space surrounding the agent's form and kept it's light steadily. The two opposite him suddenly looked a bit...less willing to battle. "Oh..using the...Rage Force again...are you?" D'Nel cleared his throat, fixing his collar. "Well...I'm sure we can...talk things out in a gentlemanly manner. We're all gentleman, right?" Multex grinned as he drew a fist back, small currents of air seeming to gather around it. "Gentle this."
Before the two could get more than a good two steps away in their flight, the agent had already drawn the aura created by the odd ability he posessed, the Rage Force as he had come to call it, and generated a massive circling current of wind around his withdrawn hand. "CYCLONIC!" was all that he bellowed before sending the punch out to dead center between the two. The others said nothing as, connecting with a bit of both of their backs, the two criminals were sent skyward in the force of a mighty cyclone that seemed to flow from the agent's fist, then travel on it's own accord, passangers in tow.
Dusting off his hands, Multex simply shot a glance to those behind him, noting that perhaps he should have just used physical strength instead, then shrugged, continuing down the path. "They'd have found out anyway eventually. And heck...perhaps I'll get some peace and quite from this yet." the agent thought, grinning as onward he trode towards a rendezvous made a night before.
