Chapter XCII: A Great Adventure ~ Artemis
Artemis noticed all the people that seemed to be meeting here. Right here infront of her precious hut. She backed into the shadows, trying to make herself scarce, and squatted next to Fang.
There are a lot of them here... Fang told her. She nodded.
I had only thought it to be the creature and I, but apparently...there are other creatures here too, who also look for answers. Artemis paused, and chuckled very softly to herself. Answers which I already have the majority of. Fang shifted slightly, why Artemis had no clue of.
Yatina, might I accompany you? I can already smell the antagonizing aroma of adventure, and I wish I accompany you on this one. You know I have never been out of the forest much... Fang said to her.
Fang...but what about the animals? She asked.
You have already given them Yatina's order not to leave the boundaries. They will obey, since they are too loyal not too. Artemis thought this over, and finally nodded.
It would be nice to have a companion along, since I highly doubt we will get much companionship from the creature. She replied. Fang leaned over and nuzzled her hand, she hugged him and stood up. Quickly checking her equipment and seeing that everything was in order and filled, she started after the group who had already left.
Let me carry you Yatina, it would be much faster. Fang suggested. She nodded, and climbed on her friend's back. He took off at a swift pace, and after no time at all they caught up with the group. Fang slowed down to a fast trot, trying to stay near the head of the group.
Is that the creature you keep telling me about? Fang asked Artemis, motioning his snout towards the circular black creature walking quite a distance ahead of everyone else.
Yes, that would be it...err...him, I think. Fang chuckled as Artemis tried to think of the correct form of speaking about the creature.
Does it have a name? Fang joked. Artemis chuckled, and flicked him in the ear.
Fang, you're terrible! Yes he has a name. He is Agent Multex707 of Parallel Earth. She replied. Fang stopped short for a moment, nearly throwing Artemis from his back, but quickly continued walking.
You mean he really is from Parallel Earth, the same one Kamiko told you about? Fang asked. Artemis nodded, and started stroking Fang on the head.
Yes, he really is. Facinating, is it not? She replied.
It sure is...hey, look at that! Fang exclaimed, stopping again, only less abruptly. Artemis brought a hand to her forehead, blocking the morning sun, and looked ahead of her. The creature, and two others were talking excitedly.
What the heck? Kamiko's name Fang, this creature sure knows a lot of his kind. Artemis said, still watching them. Apparently the others behind her were watching the same thing, because there was talk about drawing their weapons.
Should we do anything Yatina? Fang asked her. Artemis shook her head, and kept watching.
If they want to, by all means, they can let themselves get ripped apart by the creature. No Fang, we will not do anything. I know the creature looks kinda stupid...but he has a strange sense of power about him. She replied, and Fang chuckled. Before the two could converse any longer, and great gust of wind blew over them. Artemis flattened herself against Fang's back, letting the wind flow harmlessly over hers, and quickly looked at the creature.
Fang...did he just use some power to manipulate the winds into blowing those two others away? Artemis asked.
If you just saw the same thing I did, then yes, I think he did. Fang replied. Artemis thought it over for a moment, and shrugged, nudging Fang into a walking pace as the creature started moving again himself.
You were right Fang...I think this is going to be a great adventure.
