Chapter XCVIII: Who Dat? - Koi

A breath of life, as she slapped her fins against the bank and flew deeper into the water eagerly. The blood frothed at the corners of her gills was washed away and she gulped water by the gallons forcing it to sift through her gills as they worked frantically to keep pace with her. Finally having enough she jumped and twirled beneath and above the beautiful crystal clear water her long silky, white tined clear fins pricking at the feel of water surrounding her body, the smell, the taste, the sense of it all to over whelming for her. Settling at the bottom of this pond like body of water tracing the shapes of the small, colorful stones that lay beneath her. Blinking suddenly realizing she was not in her tank, not in the opaque liquid with slimy glass interior, panicking she flitted back up her long serrated edged dorsal fin cutting the waters surface before a colorful fish swim past her catching her attention. With extreme agility to out matched for the tiny fish she caught it cupping it in her palms like a child would an insect, There were no other creatures in my tank…. How did I get here? Who brought me here? Was I sold? To who and why?
Letting the fish go she traced her own intricate festive celtic designs of light pastel colors as bright as they were before she’d gotten sick even her smooth white skin in which her designs covered most of was a bit brighter then it had been. Flicking her long caudal fins she swam towards the surface only peeking from the bridge of her nose up out of the water her silvery hues flicking around her surroundings then towards, the one that saved her. Her jaw dropped as she stared at the cuts in his chest ebbing away her head between her shoulder’s sinking back to the bottom of the pond. I didn’t do that…. Did I? Soft hues flicked to her extended claws before sheathing them again with a heavy, little sigh holding her head in her hands as images flickered and faded in her mind before she could get a good look at them trying hard to call them back more slowly. The only information she could gather was that she had caused those marks in self-defense.
Why?! Why if there was no danger would I hurt him? Frustrated with questions that she could not answer and sighing in confusion she dragged herself to the surface like a child that knew they were going to be punished for bad conduct. Laying her head in her arms half her body out of the warmth and security of the water she glanced up at him with the cutest, most sheepish smile she could muster, which wasn’t that hard at all a faint tinge of crimson in her pure white face. Playing with a loose tendril of her silken, wavy platinum hair she chirruped quietly to get his attention and spoke to him softly with that sweet, musical sirens voice, even her dorsal fin collapsed against her back in a passive gesture, I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to hurt you I assure, but when your baring last threat of life sometimes your on a breaking point of your sanity.
