Chapter CI: Warning Label: Don't Judge By Size ~ Koi
Growing weary of swimming repetitiously around and around in the small pond pale hues slowly slid up from beneath the water roving the land slowly for some change of the scenery. Falling on Kyle she huffed a sigh of annoyance bubbles frothing at her gills as she did so churning the placid water, her long, billowing caudal fins being tugged at beneath the water. Looking down a scowl tainted her lush, glossy purple lips disgustedly a festively colored fish that was rather obese in size and considerably lengthy nibbled on the sweet, oval curved edges of her right rear fin. Snapping a sharp look at it as droll eyes met hers it continued untill a swift kick of a small foot connecting with the rough scaled body sent it scurrying on its way. Worriedly picking up her rear fin her slender fingers held and probed its fragile consistency as if it would fall apart if not handled with the most delicate care growling venomously, That little wretch I should tear out it’s entrails for that!
Another heavy sigh before carefully letting it go drawing her hues above the water once more curiously unaware of the breach that was slowly growing beneath her a huge, eel-like creature poking it’s snout out of the crevice he’d made from his own ingenuity. Aroused from his dormancy by the sweet and obviously delicious smell of her. Wedging his way out from beneath the earth mounded, over his startlingly large form, from many millions of years of inactivity reaching up for her stealthily. Mouth open with rows of dagger sharp teeth dulled from a multitude of years of being used and yet still a multitude of years not. Startled by the warmth beneath her as the heat of the monstrous mouth made her smooth, silvery white skin crawl. Her attention was turned downward only to be presented with the scene beneath that was neither pleasant nor welcoming to her while she gulped and wished she hadn’t looked. A panicked squeal sliced through the silence around her, not long had she tried to make a dash for it had its mouth closed around her. Blinking those mercurial hues in the darkness she growled her long, slender limbs weighted down by the creatures internal fluids, though still deciding she was not going down without a fight her delicate form writhed and squirmed in the creature’s mouth. Unsheathing long, poison barbed claws while serrated dorsal fin spiked up from along the center of her back she dug them into any part of the creature she could reach snapping and snarling in rabid ferocity.
She was rewarded with a painful cry from the monstrous creature as he opened his mouth and tossed its head savagely, in the light the obvious damage she’d done to the creature could be seen. Lethal poison sizzling away at the sensitive flesh and deep gouges in the roof of its cavernous mouth. Spilling the dreadful taste of his own dismal fate into his mouth and he had clearly decided that he did not like the taste one bit coming to the decision that she, though a tasty morsel, was not worth the trouble of digesting while unscathed. Tumbling out of the creature’s huge mouth one tooth snagging her along the rib cage, Koi was tossed to the land. Laying there trying to perceive exactly where she was the rancid, intolerable stench of the eel-like creature’s blood had a definite hallucinogenic sort of effect to it or something. Sitting up slowly clouded hues repetitiously blinking dazedly it taking her over several long minutes till her lungs began to heat and the familiar rasping of her gills came in to tune that she realized yet again she was not getting enough oxygen, however there was enough in the moisture of the air to do for now. Tossed over 12 feet away from the pond with the creature still looming out of the water realizing it was a good opportunity to strike now that he had the upper hand, if she were not as far away as she was.
In an instant he lunged towards her the weight of his lengthy, brawn clad body indenting the ground beneath him shoveling up dirt like a bulldozer. A heavy slump of her shoulders staring at the massive muzzle heading straight for her, Okaaaaaaay, maybe the land separating us is NOT a hindrance to him, today must be my lucky day. Snorting comically at her own sarcasm she hopped up with extreme agility onto one hand pushing off the ground into a back flip arching pliant little form to land atop the creatures head, digging her claws into cold, slimy flesh while he tossed his head vigorously for the second time. While he did so she took time to tend to her wound, glancing down at her left side with a small grimace tensely, milky white bone exposed beneath a few skimpy layers of flesh sliding her index and middle finger over the cut it was sealed with a whitish plasmic liquid. It would mesh skin with skin slowly and eventually heal, crawling along the broad expanse of the creature’s back she looked for any weakness mumbling into her own mind quietly, C’mon, there must be something wrong with you.Anything.
Looking back at the small pattern of deep gashes five to a print that would be each one of her fingers in perfect unison of one after the other, stopping at the center she sat thoughtfully. Feeling flared breath behind her as if this creature were trying to keep himself from going ballistic on her she shrugged small, rounded shoulders to herself, Suits him right, before thinking that over carefully mumbling to herself with calm contempt as she hung her head, So he’s behind me no problem Koi you’re not gonna let a monster eel creature destroy you. Mouth coming in closer proximity to her then she would have liked it to be she ebbed forward timidly only to feel his drool covered face against her narrow backside making her dorsal fin drop protectively against it. Turning her hues down to her claws she sighed heavily and drew herself to a crouch slowly while his malicious eyes bore into her watching her with delight as her muscles flinched in discomfort.
Refusing the compulsive instinct in her to look back at the creature’s massive mouth behind her she ignored it while her sweet, soothing voice cooed impishly into his head seeming to confuse him. You wanna see something really neat? You may have two eyes… but I can give you split vision! Giggling viciously a quick recoil of her long legs sent her springing into another back flip claws lengthening as they slid through the creatures head and then landed hard on the ground. Standing she resheathed her claws once more and folded her arms, caudal fins wisping infront of her highlighting that lithe body, thoroughly worn from battle and limited external air supply a wily, tenacious grin curling her lush lips in triumph. While, behind her the creature’s monstrous head split in two and he collapsed deftly to the ground stirring up a cloud of dust around both brawny and slender forms. She thought to herself holding her head up haughtily, Well, how’s that for a second impression?
