Tripper looked at his controls. He checked the status of the cargo hold doors, and noted that they were closed and sealed, and then spoke to his robotic co-pilot.
"Are we ready to go?" Tripper asked. He looked at his robot’s display, as it couldn’t speak, and noticed that everything was just fine. Tripper had been hard pressed to find a customer that would allow him to haul freight for them. Nobody trusted him, and he had few friends. There was apparently, little room in the galaxy for a yoshi human cross. As far as he knew, he was the only thing in the galaxy that resembled a yoshi, but had five fingers, and a short tongue. Everything else about him was yoshi, except the skin on his underbelly was the color of a Caucasian human. He stared out the veiwport for a moment, into empty space, and the engaged the engines. As his scope showed that he had reached a safe distance from the star port, his navicomputer signaled that his hyperdrive co-ordinates were complete. He pulled the lever for the hyperdrive, and watches as the stars shifted into lines, and then to the spectral sky of hyperspace. He sat down in the pilot’s chair, and thought.

Soon after, he was rudely awakened from his concentration, by a barrage of sirens. He jumped up, and looked at the console in horror. His hyperdrive had malfunctioned, and he stood the risk of being stranded in hyperspace. Suddenly, all of his instruments maxed out, and he was thrown against his chair from the acceleration, wit such force that he was knocked unconscious.

When he awoke, he found himself lying on a beach, with pieces of wreckage strewn about all around him. He started to get up, but quickly fell in pain. Ignoring the pain in his back, he climbed to his feet, and looked around. He was on a beach, next to an ocean that was unusually calm, or at least Tripper thought so, as he had never seen an ocean this close before. He looked around again, and noticed a forest to the North, and more sand to the South. He decided to head South, hoping to find civilization on this strange new world.
