Chapter CVIII: A Dangerous Experiment -Dragon

Markior returned to the hull of the Ganthritor II, looking extremely stressed. Dragon approached him as he sat in a chair, and was about to ask him what had happened, when she sensed something. It was the same evil she had felt long ago, back on her home world, and with her mouth agape, shook her head in shocked disbelief and walked out of the room. The others looked between the two, not quite sure of what they should say or do, and murmured softly amongst themselves.

Dragon sat in the desolate adjoining room, just thinking. Was it really Ulrezaj? What was he doing here? And who was that purple yoshi on his side? Still she pondered, resting her chin in her hand. The Darikuri was able to change her form... there was no doubt about that.. after that stunt she pulled in the desert with the sandworm. She hadn't meant to morph, she didn't know she still could... did that mean she could control it? After all, the power came from Ulrezaj himself, and had not completely gone away when Markior had changed her back to good on Yoshi Island. So maybe, if only she could try--
The door let out a hiss and Lich walked in. He sat down next to Dragon and said, "You alright?" Giving her a squeeze. She looked at the ground and replied,
"Yeah... but I don't think Markior is... maybe you'd better talk to him." He hummed in thought, and finally said, "Yes, no one else is saying much, it's kinda awkward in there."
He stood up, holding Dragon's hands as he did, then he let go, and when he reached the door, he said, "Are you sure you'll be okay? Maybe the others would like to join you-"
"No, I'm fine," she sighed. He turned around one last time before the doors closed, and she fell back into a deep thought again.
'Maybe it's possible, though, the others can't know, I'll have to be careful, because if something goes wrong...'
She raised her hands in front of her, and stared at them, willing them to do something radical, anything...
After a short period of time she grew impatient, and hit the metal surface she was sitting on. Her fist made a loud clang against it, and she fell off clutching her hand as she rolled on the floor in pain. As she did so, she noticed her reflection in the metal, her pupils glowing bright red, as they always did when she was angry. Perhaps she needed to be mad?
Once again she sat down, merely shaking her sore hand and staring at them both, thinking.
'Come on, think angry thoughts, think!' She remembered the time DraStar had eaten the last of the chocolate ice cream, but that wasn't good enough, and she began to miss him again. Putting him aside, she sifted through her memory, her life on the island, back on her home world, her childhood--
The memories flooded back. The loneliness, the torture, the unacceptance, her sister...
The rage inside her grew, tearing at her heart and lungs as her heartbeat went faster and her breathing increased. Still staring at her hands, she replayed the horrible scenes over and over in her head, becoming ever more enraged. When finally, her hands turned a darker shade of blue, and grew bigger, claws extending the length of her small Daraekuen hands. The veins popped out and grew on her arms, which also increased in size, as did her feet, which tore her shoes to shreds.
Her face twisted in anger, she looked beyond her hands to see a red mist before her, and the morphing process stopped momentarily as she watched the seemingly harmless cloud thicken into an electric storm, almost filling the entire room. She then felt a pang of fear as she felt something inside her head, searching her thoughts, and calling out to her,
"Riu.... join me....."
"No," she said aloud, clutching her head with her now gigantic dragon hands. It continued to chant in her head over and over the same words;
"Join me... there is no escape, Riu.... destroy them all... no escape..."
She finally screamed and ran into the opposite wall. It still continued, getting louder and louder. She flapped her wings and rose into the air, surrounded by the red smog. Still the voice taunted her, the tone suggesting it found teasing this being amusing.
"Join me, Riu...."
Screaming once again, she flew over to the other wall hitting it head first, losing height then gaining it again, to ram into another, growing dizzier and weaker with each hit.

Back in the hull, the others heard shrieks and thumps, and all rushed to the door, to find a blue blur flying around the room, out of its mind and panicking like a wild bird caught in a cage. They all stood in shock, when Markior floated past them all and held his hands up, as she instantly passed out and fell to the ground. Lich rushed over to the place where she had fallen, and noticed her hands and feet shrinking before his very eyes. Glancing over to where she was sitting before, saw her tattered purple shoes lying on the ground. He looked back to Dragon and picked her up, taking her to his bed and resting her on it, while the others stood in silence.
Then, after a while, Vector finally said,
"...I want a ham sandwich."
