Chapter CXXXV: One Step Too Far? ~Ria

Gelid looked up. "I'm just along because my home and family disappeared. I don't really think it's up to me."
"Well, then who is it up to?" Kyanosa asked.
"Check your book." Adrian said, now just extremely uptight about the whole situation. Her tail was lashing angrily behind her. She knew something about the earthquake was not right, not normal. She had the feeling that her planet was in danger and no one even seemed to know where to go.
Kyanosa had pulled out his book again and seemed to be scanning it for anything that might help, while the ghost was just floating around above them. Adrian kept a wary eye on Optional. He was vulth'n any way you looked at it, meaning she wasn't about to trust him. And if he made any threatening moves, she wouldn't hesitate to use *Demonslayer* on him.
"There's nothing." Kyanosa announced. "Though there's a very good section on what to do in the case of finding ones self caught by the enemy."
Adrian know knew why she had, had that feeling of wanting to rip this guy to shreds the first time he opened his mouth.
"What do you do?" Gelid asked.
"Scream." Kyanosa replied.
Without the slightest sound Adrian pulled *Demonslayer* from the sheath on her back and twirled it around, cutting right through Kyanosa's middle. Gelid had jumped back at the sight of the sword. Kyanosa didn't move either before, or after the blade passed through his stomach.
"Well, at least I feel a little better." She sighed slipping the sword back in its sheath.
Kyanosa looked down at his stomach and then felt it all over. "I'm still in one piece. Why am I still in one piece?"
"Check your book." Adrian replied. She also noted that Optional had disappeared upon *Demonslayer's* appearance. **Killed two birds with one stone.** She smiled slightly.
"What the heck is wrong with you?" Gelid said angrily. "Is this another human prejudice thing?"
Adrian was a bit shocked at the outburst. Gelid didn't seem like the type to loose his temper.
"Yes, maybe this is annoying, but like it or not, we're all after the same guy and you're going to have to get along, or one of the evil beings on the planet will tare us apart." The Ice Dog said.
"Wait. You don't like humans?" Kyanosa asked.
"Not particularly." Adrian replied.
"I can't exactly do anything about it." Kyanosa replied. "I was kinda born this way."
"We're either going to have to settle this right now or go separate ways." Gelid said. "I know you can be nice Adrian. You just have to get past this human thing."
"Yeah. I'd hate for you to use a real sword next time. I like being in one piece. You also seemed to have scared Optional away."
"*Demonslayer's* a vulth'n killing sword, which means it can destroy what's dead, but can't touch what's not. He knew it too, so he left." Adrian said.
"But you used *Demonslayer*." Kyanosa said.
"Of course I did." Adrian said.
"I imagine that other sword's real. You could've cleaved me in half quite easily." Kyanosa pointed out.
"I don't kill people for no reason." Adrian said. "I was letting off steam."
"Well I'd prefer if you'd let off steam at something else next time instead of me." Kyanosa said.
The ground shook again. Adrian closed her eyes. She could feel the planet's pain now. **I'll kill whoever caused this.** She said to herself silently. As the ground ceased it's latest shaking, she turned her attention back to Kyanosa and Gelid, who were making sure the earthquake was over before relaxing their stances again.
"Okay. This is how it's going to go. Gelid's right about us going in the same direction. I'd imagine that anyone evil is going to be in the direction." She said pointing towards where the earthquakes seemed to be coming from.
Suddenly Optional appeared in front of her finger. "That was not very nice." He said.
"Oh so you're back." Adrian said lowering her finger.
"How would you like it if I was to drop you off a cliff?" He asked.
Adrian rolled her eyes. "I wasn't going to do anything. I didn't do anything."
"It still wasn't nice." Optional turned into a feather and floated down to land on the ground. As suddenly wind blew past their feet, sending the feather twirling into the air.
Adrian looked up after him. "You know. I bet he's only hanging around because of you." She glanced over at Kyanosa.
"I know. I'm just so lovable." Kyanosa grinned.
There was a small pop and a little doll that looked like Kyanosa appeared on the real Kyanosa's head. "I'm more lovable." Optional said.
"Oh look. Now there's two of them." Adrian sighed.
Kyanosa reached up and took down the doll. "This looks nothing like me. I'm taller."
The doll disappeared and Optional once more appeared in the air.
"Okay. You two can do whatever you want, but I'm going to find out what's causing these earthquakes." Adrian said, and she turned and started walking again.
Optional suddenly appeared in front of her, upside-down of all positions. "Do you really want to know who Havering is?"
"I don't think it makes much difference." Adrian said walking right through him.
