Chapter CXXXVI: Today's Lesson: Everybody Is Your Friend, Even the Ones Who Want You Dead ~Kyanosa
"Yes!" Kyanosa instantly thrust his umbrella up into the air, getting it caught in a gust of wind and floating away for a few seconds until he managed to close it.
Adrian turned around and sighed. "What now?"
"As much as I hate to break up this little posse we have going, you have a great idea. You and...that thing for whom I can't remember the name will head toward those earthquakes"
"Gelid?" The ice dog raised an eyebrow.
"Bless you. Optional, you can travel faster than anybody here. Become a ray of light or something. Zip around the planet and try to find where this Agent guy is now. He seems important. I'll go wander and try to look for more of these marble things. I don't stand a chance with a sword and an umbrella."
Adrian raised a finger to protest to the whole "team split-up" thing when Gelid nudged her knee. She bent down to hear him whisper, "he's offering us a chance to leave him behind."
She got back up. "Okay, Kyanosa, we'll try that method, although we'd hate to leave you." Her eyes glinted a bit.
"Sorry, but I gotta increase my range of techniques here." He stepped closer to her and whispered, "besides, the dog and ghost are getting on my nerves." He stepped back. "You guys go have fun. Don't get dead!"
Adrian and Gelid began to leave. As soon as Kyanosa turned around, they both took off full speed.
"Which direction should I go now?" He asked the spirit thing.
"There's a large structure about four kilometers west-by-northwest of here. Seems like a popular place."
"Then I'll check it out." He held out his hand as if to be shaken, shook it by himself, and jogged toward the forest a good ways off in the direction indicated.
Optional watched him until he was out of sight. "Freak." He shimmered and went in the other direction.

Ten minutes later, Kyanosa had slowed to a walk. Besides, the forest had too many trees for running. He kept finding them with his face. His mind was running through the list of the game's powers, trying to find one that might match his current situation.
"Hm...trees...lumber...Cutter power? No, that would need an axe or something. Fire? Not unless there's a sudden blaze. Birds live in trees. Wing? Have to be a pretty special bird. Stone?" He looked around for a rock. "Nothing. Shooties!"
Another ten minutes passed, and he was tired. He hadn't sat down since he found Parasol. Flopping on the ground against a random tree, he exhaled strongly (you heard me) and thought about the day thus far, especially the people. Adrian seemed...okay, but he got the feeling that she didn't like him much. Very distant, kind of edgy, and she had tried to carve him in two. Gelid wasn't much better, but at least he was quiet about it. Optional has started to tick him off from the start, what with the "KC" nickname, attaching himself to Kyanosa's property, the condescending nature of his tone, and that part when he became tha Kyanosa doll. The nerve, trying to become an exact copy of...an exact copy...
Kyanosa stood up and screamed so loud that animals ran away. Of course! How could he have been so dense?** Optioanl had the ability to turn into anything not alive. He could become a copy of anything! A copy! Kyanosa had stared the person with the Copy marble right in the face, likely actually had the marble in his hand, and told the person to go away!
He pulled up his umbrella and, with pure anger, smashed it into the tree repeatedly. Further frustrated that it caused no damage, he bid it disappear in the requisite white flash and summoned the sword instead. He wound up for a second and cleaved the tree in two at a 30 degree angle in one blow. The tree crashed down with the full force of gravity on a heavy object, smashing into the ground and sending a meduim-sized blue object down with it.
Still angry, but better, Kyanosa walked over to the object and picked it up. It was a rather light backpack, porobably one stuffed in the tree by some campers who wanted it out of the way of various forest creatures. Hoping it had anything of use, he opened the main pouch and shook its contents onto the ground. A single yo-yo fell out.
He picked it up, grinned for a sec, and put it back on the forest floor. Holding the sword carefully, he carved the toy right down the middle. Sure enough, inside was a marble. Well, halves of a marble, as his cleaving job had been a little too efficient. He pried the two pieces loose and pressed them both in his palm. Instantly his sword disappeared in the same manner as the umbrella. Instead, his right hand now held a small yo-yo. About four inches in diameter and a little more than an inch thick, its rather sticky surface shone a metallic silver in the sun that peeked through the canopy of leaves.
Knowing what he did about its powers, Kyanosa flicked his wrist at the fallen tree about ten feet away. The yo-yo stuck to it and stayed there. Pulling on the dual loops of string attached to his index and ring fingers, he swung his hand above his head and in the opposite direction of where the yo-yo was. The tree, pulled by the yo-yo, flew into the air above his head. The toy released its hold another ten feet out, sending the tree on its own airborne path until it landed on the ground a hundered feet away.
"I'm gonna have fun with this." He set off walking in the same direction as before, now much happier. With the yo-yo's strength, he could probably toss around small houses. "Let's see any British guys try to get me now."
