Chapter CL: Entering the Mock World ~Solari

Solari raises her sword high, screaming a battle cry. Chera stood her ground, daring Solari to strike her down. Solari ran towards Chera, and just as her sword came down, Chera opened a portal. Gray mist swirled behind her, and she jumped in. "Oh no you don't!" cried Solari. She ran into the portal, ignoring the cries of her brothers as they battled nearby.

Inside the portal, all Solari could see was the gray mist. Behind her, as the portal closed, she heard shouts and cries of the battle. But her mind was only on Chera. Up ahead, she could see a figure running towards another portal. Solari charged after her. "You'll not get away from me, Chera!" she cried after the fleeing figure.

On the other side of the portal, birds chirped and the clouds rolled across the bright blue sky lazily. The brunette woman stepped out, and tried to close the portal quickly, hoping to trap the blond. Instead, the portal remained open. Suddenly a golden flash shot through the gate, landing on top of the brunette.

Solari growled at Chera, causing the brunette to shake. Solari head her sword at Chera's throat, then sniffed the air. Something wasn't right. This land smelled...well, different. She had been to Felin and this wasn't it. She glared down at Chera. "Where are we?" she growled.

Chera blinked. "We're in Felin, and if you do not remove yourself, you will be killed."

Solari smiled coldly. "We aren't in Felin. Sniff the air."

Chera did and gasped. "We...my home..." She glared at Solari, her amber eyes boring into Solari's green ones. "What did you do?"

"I did nothing. You opened the portal and you brought us here. That is all there is to it."

"I don't even know where here is! Let me up...maybe I can get us home."

Solari laughed. "Let you up so you can kill me. I think not."

Chera sighed. "I tell you the truth, Solari. Goddess Serena's Honor."

Solari eyed the woman she held to the ground. She knew all Felana held the goddess up on high, only using her name when they were being honest. To do otherwise was to invite death. She nodded, then slowly backed off Chera. "I will watch you, Chera. If you try anything, I will kill you. Serena's Honor."

Chera nodded and dusted off her silver dress. Then she launched herself at Solari, growling. Her hands were already in the form of claws and one tore into Solari's shoulder, making her scream out in pain. Solari's Star on her arm glowed. "Now, you die!"

Solari leapt at Chera, howling in pain, her teeth and claws bared. Slowly she took on the form of a golden werecat. Chera swung her claws, scratching Solari down the face. The golden cat screeched in pain, and grabbed out at the black cat. She grabbed hold of her long locks and pulled her head back, exposing throat. All she could see was red rage. She had no clue where she was and this she cat was the cause of all her problems. She raised her claw to strike.

"Solari, no! I beg you! Please!!" cried Chera as she tried to rip the other female’s claws from her hair. But it was no use, Solari had a tight grip and nothing was going to make her let go.

Suddenly a yo-yo shot out and grabbed hold of her hand as it came rushing down at Chera’s throat. "No, we don’t, miss kitty," came a voice. Solari looked down at the yo-yo, confused to what it was and then over to the strange human holding the toy. He was average, nothing special.

Solari growled. Kyanosa tried to growl back in similar fashion, coughed a bit, doubled over in a lung-tearing fit, and eventually regained his upright composure. He then settled for a smaller growl. "Grr."

Solari laughed a little, but didn’t let Chera go. "Who are you?"

"Cute." He grinned.

That made the golden werecat grin more. "What do you want, then, Cute?"
"Well, I wouldn't mind your increasing the precarious inches between those spffiy little claws of yours and that throbbing jugular vein I can see pulsing down there. I'm a writer; can you tell?"

Solari looked puzzled. "Why? She brought me here, and now she will die."

"What's so bad about here? You have nice vegetation, fun British evil guys, homicidal robots who just don't give you a chance to catch your blasted breath, and me."

"We have what here?" She shook her head. "It isn’t home. I want to go home."

"Bah. Home you don't get these things." He waved the hand with the yo-yo strings, palm toward her. "Or this cool armor or this much exercise in one day, and it's rare that near my home I'd find cat-people. I like here."

Solari growled, "It isn’t home, and we have a battle to return too…well, after I kill Chera here, I’ll have a battle to return too."

"Solari, I beg you, don’t. I got us here, perhaps I can return us home."

"I let you once before, Felin. And you attacked me." She turned to the strange man. "Tell me, can you send me home?"

"No, but if you insist on killing people, I can send you over there." Kyanosa nodded at a tree about a dozen yards away, and with a flick of the wrist (he was gradually getting better at the flicking thing) Solari had a rude encounter with one of the lower branches.

Solari got up and growled low. Chera stood and smiled. "Thank you…" She was about to say something else, but a golden form leaping over her head and attacking Kyanosa interrupted her. She knocked him to the ground, her claws inches from his face. "Give me one reason I shouldn’t kill you now."

"I'm unfathomably pretty."

"Not good enough!" she cried, swinging her claws down. Suddenly a hand grabbed her own.
"Solari, no! We need him!" Chera cried. "Don’t!"

Kyanosa blinked at Chera quizzically, but then his eyes glazed over. "She needs me. I have purpose!" His head fell back against the ground, a dreamy smile on his face.

Solari nodded and climbed off him. "I suppose so…"
