Chapter CLI: Oh, That's How You Use an Umbrella! ~Kyanosa

Kyanosa hopped up from the ground and brushed himself off. "Next time I get summoned into the nexus of the universe while reality-hopping and meet face-to-face with apparently one of the most powerful beings to come into existence since the Truman administration, remind me to get some sort of armor for my face."

Solari blinked, then turned to Chera. "Why do we need him again?"

"Because he's our best chance of finding out where we are, and when I find that, I can make a portal out."

The other nodded. "Fair enough." She turned to face Kyanosa, who was at the time balancing on one foot. "Okay, Cute, where are we?"

Kyanosa considered correcting her, but decided that he liked his name. "We're here."

"And where is here?"

He glanced around. "Looks to be a kind of grassy plain-type thing. There's a tree over there."

"I can gut you in two point three seconds."

"From what I've been able to piece together, we're on a planet called Zolott. It was randomly tossed together by a magically enabled and slightly bipolar evil British tall guy named Sir Pseudo Havering. He has henchmen; they are bad. Also, it seems that there are a number of, using the broadest possible definition of the term, people who have it in for said baddies." He took out his yellow book.

"We have a number of Yoshis, big-nosed lizards who walk on two feet, have extraordinarily long tongues, and come in a variety of colors and scents. Random gods patrol the area, there's a rather large and slighty damaged builing to our...um..." He looked around, sniffed the air, and returned to the book. "...direction, and some fellow called "The Agent" seems extremely popular." He closed his book. "Any questions?"

"So where do we go from here?" asked Solari.

Kyanosa pointed his fingers in opposite directions.

Chera tapped her foot. "Going in two different directions..how will that help get us home?"

"What, you're trying to get home? Then I suggest going back the way you came. Works for me."

Solari growled, her green eyes flashing. "Listen, Cute, we tried that....and it didn't work.

Now, find us someway to return home, or I gut you here and now."

Kyanosa sat down and nodded. "That's bad. Did you try one of those flare guns? They can signal planes really well, but it'd be best to wait for night."

Chera looked confused, her amber eyes narrowing. "Why's that?"

Solari laughed. "Night? We Felena could loose you easily at Night. Or kill you."

Chera studied Cute, wondering if he could return them home. If he could, he'd be a powerful ally. She grinned. Perhaps she should be nice to him...learn all his abilites.

"Ah, yes, but that's why I have this!" Kyanosa pulled out the umbrella, opened it, and accidentally smacked himself in the face. "Owchiewawa."

The two Felena females laughed. "You mean, so you can smack yourself around with it!" Solari said, doubled over.

"Feh. I'll have you know that I can fly with this thing open. Give me a second to catch the wind." He licked his finger to test for direction and pointed the umbrella in the direction it was going. A few seconds later, he tapped the umbrella on the ground. "Aw, work for the ladies, dang it!"

With an extra large tap that vaguely resembled a smash, the umbrella itself began to vibrate. Utterly confused, Kyanosa began to point it in random directions to see if it flew against the wind. Suddenly, a large, yellow, star-shaped disc shot out the tip, flew towards a nearby tree, and with the standard massive explosion that accompanies a weapon of mass destruction, incinerated it quite thoroughly.

"Well, that was new."

Chera grinned. She needed to get her claws on that umbrella. It was a powerful weapon indeed.

"Now, if I could remember how I did that, we'd be set. Anyway, where exactly is your home?"

"Seren. That's the name....I'm from the Felin Kingdom and Solari here is from the Cataria Kingdom." Solari interrupted. "And we're at war."

"...yeah, that means nothing to me. Never heard of Seren, Felin, Cataria, and your name is Solari? Nice to meet you. I guessed the whole war thing from your situation when I met you. How were you planet-hopping again?"

"That was Chera's doing," Solair said, pointing to the brunette. "And it wasn't planet hopping. She was trying to escape me."

"No, I was trying to lure you to Felin soil so I could kill you for giving me this scar!!" Chera's claws came out, as did Solari's. "We can finish this now!"

Kyanosa tried to point the umbrella at both of them, but settled for the blond one who had tried to kill him earlier. Wouldn't you? "You can finish this when I'm not around; I get squeamish around blood. And regardless of what you were trying to do, you ended up on a new planet, so there." He took out the book. "Now, who's good at space travel around here?"

The two looked at him. "Neither of us, Cute."

"Ah ah ah! Reading." He flipped through the pages with one hand. "Well, nobody the author knows. Wanna go look?"

They both nodded. "Sounds good to me," Solari said,

He blinked. "Would you both mind putting the claws away? And maybe walking a few yards apart?"

Chera smirked. "Would you mind walking between us? I'd feel safer."

"I wouldn't, but if it'll keep you you from tearing new holes in my liver, then okay!" He grinned, closed the umbrella, slung it over his shoulder, and stepped between them. "Somebody pick a direction."

Chera smiled. "Lets go to the west, ok, Solari?" The blond muttered something, but agreed.

"Alright then!" He marched away.

Chera called after him. "That's east!"

Kyanosa walked backwards and stopped in between them again. "I knew that." He kept walking backwards, to the west this time. The others shrugged and followed.

"So, where EXACTLY are we headed?" Solari asked after walking about a mile.

"Not sure." Kyanosa turned around. "This way, I guess. I though she knew." He nodded at the brunette.

"I was guessing!" Chera cried, shooting daggers at Solari. Solari growled back.

"You know, they make cough drops for that sort of thing."

Solari growled at Kyanosa. "Shut up, Cute."

He threw his hands in the air. "Hey, you guys started the growling thing."

Chera sighed.

"I say we just keep going until either we meet a person who can tell us what's going on or another one of those robots things runs into us and tries to make us all into jigsaw puzzles."

Solari blinked. "What robot things?"

Kyanosa nodded. "That's right." He then skipped towards the west again, ready for anything and hoping for a new power. Or a puppy! Puppies are cute!
