Chapter CXCIII: A Revelation ~Zephirus

Dadala sat on a rock high up in the mountains. He had been following this path along the mountains for days. When the forest had been set aflame, he had escaped narrowly to these mountains. He had lost the trail of Zephirus and his friends in escaping the forest. He was now more concerned with his own safety, for he had a feeling that Necrominus was after him and out for revenge. He got up, taking one final look down at the world below, and started back along the path. He rested a hand lightly on his chest. Although he had healed the broken rib, the pain it had caused him still remained, even though it was toned down sufficiently. He continued along the path through the mountains until coming to a rope bridge. It looked rather unstable. *Hmm...doesn't look too safe,* he thought as he looked it over. *I'd be better flying over,* he decided, and he took to the air, hovering across the bridge. As he reached the other side, an energy blast grazed his shoulder. He fell, putting an arm on the shoulder. He looked up in the direction of the blast to see Necrominus holding an energy rifle in his remaining hand, smiling, the barrel of the rifle smoking.

Zephirus sat in the sand, looking over at Solari and Chera. Both were asleep, with the morning sun peeking over the eastern mountains. Kyanosa had still not returned...Zephirus suspsected he had left the group. He then whispered to himself, "Well, I guess I'd better get going before they wake up. By destroying that robot, I'm a threat to them. That Havering guy was the robot's master according to Kyanosa...who knows what he might send after me. So I guess this is good-bye." Zephirus collected his things, got up, and started off toward the eastern mountains. By noon, he had reached them, and was moving swiftly along the path that cut through the mountain range. He suddenly heard an explosion. *Huh? What was that?* he thought. The wind then alerted him to two presences battling nearby. He flew up and toward the presences, discovering one to be Dadala. Dadala was holding his shoulder with one hand and holding his sword in the other. The hand holding the shoulder was coated in yellowish-green blood. Zephirus blinked, looking again. Yellowish-green? He shook his head, looking harder. The blood was indeed a yellowish-green color. He shrugged, and looked over at Dadala's opponent. His eyes widened as he saw a huge, 8-foot tall, cattle-skulled, one-armed robot dressed in a cloak and holding an energy rifle in its single hand, pointed at Dadala. *That must be one of that robot's friends...I better hide,* Zephirus thought, zipping behind a mountain peak and poking his head out to watch.

"How'd I know you'd be back for more?" Dadala asked, spitting his words through clenched teeth. Necrominus smiled, and replied, "You took my arm, of course I'd be back. Tell me, are you familiar with the saying "an eye for an eye?" Dadala gulped silently, and nodded. Necrominus smirked, and remarked, "Well, I'm gonna put a little spin on that saying...how bout an arm for an arm?!" Necrominus cackled, and his energy rifle changed into an energy blade. He charged forth, cutting through Dadala's right arm. Dadala screamed in pain as his arm dropped to the ground, and the yellowish-green blood began gushing from his body. He held it for several minutes, then slowly stood, turning around. "Well, that was a great rush of pain," Dadala remarked, "but I really can't walk around without my arm." Dadala closed his eyes and concentrated. His body trembled, and he yelled to the sky, a new arm shooting from the socket, dripping with his blood. Necrominus blinked, and exclaimed, "What the hell?! How did you do that?!" Dadala chuckled, and replied, "Perhaps it's time I showed you what exactly I am." He reached up with his new hand and threw back his hood. Two small green antennae stuck up from his face wrappings. He slowly undid them and tossed them aside, revealing the face of a young (late teens-looking) Namek. Necrominus looked puzzled. He paused, then asked, "What the hell are you?" Dadala smiled, and answered, "I am a Namekian, from the planet known as Namek. It was destroyed a while ago by an evil being known as Frieza. After it was destroyed, most of my brethren split apart to find a new home. I went my own way, becoming a mercenary. Seeing as humanity is often necessary to make connections, I disguised myself. Zeph, the guy I'm after, broke my cover one day, getting me kicked out of a bar I liked quite a bit. I plan to kill him for it." Necrominus blinked, still rather confused. He shook his head and growled, "Ah hell, why do I care...seeing as I can't remove your arm, it looks like I'll have to kill you. Seeya..." He cackled, his energy blade now an energy rifle again and aimed at Dadala.

"Hold it!" Zephirus shouted from his hiding place, now having left it. He floated down beside Dadala and landed. Necrominus looked over at Zephirus and scoffed. "Hah, you the green guy's friend or something?" He asked jokingly. Zephirus replied, "Not particularly...but I dealt with one of your friends. Poor fellow." Zephirus's face remained serious, eyes narrowed. Necrominus blinked, asking, "Huh? What are you talking about? You destroyed Anubarik?" Zephirus answered, "Anubarik? Well, I didn't get his name, but he had a jackal head. Was that him?" Zephirus smiled slightly. Necrominus growled, "Why you...it was you!" Dadala looked over at Zephirus and exclaimed, "What?! You destroyed one of this guy's friends, weak little you?!" Zephirus nodded, and Dadala looked him over. "What's with the new look?" Dadala asked. Zephirus smirked, and replied, "I am now the Demigod of Wind, Protector of the Zephyr Seal...Zephirus Darkwind is not the human you once knew, but a demi-deity." Dadala blinked, and Necrominus growled. "So you're the Zephirus this guy's been raving on about?" Necrominus asked. Zephirus nodded. Necrominus considered his options. "Hmm...well, it's been fun, but I need to get going. I'll be back to kill you both. Have fun with what's left of your pitiful lives!" Necrominus yelled as he took off. Dadala looked over at Zephirus and leaped over into Necrominus's position, holding his sword ready. "Well, thanks for saving me and all, but I have a grudge to settle with you," he stated. Zephirus narrowed his eyes, pulling out his lance, and the two relaxed into their favored battle stances. *May the wind protect me,* Zephirus thought as he charged forth.
