Chapter CCIV: A Visitor from the Stars ~Zephirus
Zephirus walked out the door of the bar and looked around. He then looked to the sky. Dadala had completely disappeared. Zephirus shrugged, and started back on his way. As he exited the protoss base he came upon a forest. *Gyah, another forest,* he thought as he entered. *This is one weird planet...first a forest, then a desert, then mountains, then flatlands outta nowhere, then we're back to the forest. I still don't really understand what's going on here.* He continued through the forest until spotting a stream. He walked over and crouched beside it, looking at his face in the running water. He smiled slightly, taking some of the water in his hands and drinking it. He sat back and smiled, saying, "Ah, refreshing. It's been awhile since I've had a drink of water straight from the stream." He looked at himself in the water once more, and remarked, "Also been a while since I cleaned this mug." He then began washing his face with the water. He then heard a twig snap. He grabbed his lance, pulling it free of its holder. He glanced around, eyes searching for who snapped the twig. He then felt a sharp blade tap the back of his neck, and heard Dadala say, "Put it down."
He set his lance down and sighed, growling, "You sneaky son of a---" "Hold it there. I have the advantage here, cussing at me won't do you anything but harm," Dadala interrupted. "Now, stand up, and slowly," he commanded. Zephirus obeyed, slowly rising to his feet. "Ok Dadala, you got me...do it, take my head off with one swift swipe," Zephirus stated firmly. Dadala chuckled. "Tsk tsk tsk...you know me better, Zeph. I don't kill without a struggle. I came to tell you this, and only this: you're gonna have a lot bigger problems than me, Havering, those robots, or anything on this planet when he gets here." Zephirus asked, "Who the hell is he?" He received no response as Dadala ran off, leaping into the air, activating his jetpack and disappearing into the clouds. *God he is confusing,* Zephirus thought as he picked up his lance, putting it back into the holder. He crossed the stream and continued through the forest without event until there was a sudden impact on the planet. The shock from the impact was felt far around. Zephirus received a particularly hard jolt, thrown off his feet by the sudden move. He got to his feet quickly, hearing rumbling sounds not too far off. "What the hell was that?!" he cried, rushing toward the source of the impact.
He broke away from the forest into a grassy plain. As he crested a hill, his eyes widened, the source of the shock coming to his attention: a good-sized spaceship (about the size of an Abrams tank) had landed on the planet...if you could call the smoking crater it had left in impact a landing. There was also a herd of half-terrified half-curious cows gathered around the ship. *The ship must have caused that earthquake...but what's inside?* Zephirus thought. As if the thing inside had read his thoughts, a door on the side of the ship opened. A silver-skinned hand gripped the side of the opening. It looked humanlike, with the exception of its 2-foot long fingers and 1-foot long thumb, as well as the hooked black claws at the tip of each finger. Another hand like the other gripped the other side of the opening, and it stepped out into the daylight. The creature was strangely beautiful, with long-flowing blonde hair ending at its knees. It was dressed in a crimson robe, and about 5'7" in height. It had white, glassy eyes 3 to 4 inches in height and 1 to 2 inches white. They looked almost as if they were fake, made from plastic. The creature had an emotionless expression, and no lips, just a straight line below 2 small holes that seemed to be the nose. It looked human except for the fingers and eyes. 2 ranchers then rode up to the creature, and one began asking it questions. "Hey, did you cause that earthquake with yer thingamajigger there? These are our cattle, you kill one yer gonna pay fer it." The creature's emotionless expression turned to a smile, and it let out a horrifying screech. Then, a flash of blinding light, lasting for several seconds, with a soundless explosion leaving a decently-sized crater. The cattle, the ranchers, and their horses were nowhere in sight. The creature flashed Zephirus a smile with a razor-sharp fang-filled maw, and took off. "Crap!" Zephirus exclaimed, creating a cloud platform. He took off after the creature, and watched as it disappeared into the distance. He gave chase, wondering what other nasty surprises the creature had in store for him...
