Chapter CCIX: Chaos With the Crystals ~Aurora
"Huh? Where are we going, Aurora?" Ark stared at the violet Yoshian female in puzzlement, surprised of her sudden order from just awakening. He scratched his head, then looked at the Zerg queen. Kerrigan didn't answer, not knowing how to respond. She arrogantly pretended to be too busy directing the Overlord.
"It's the twin crystals," Aurora noted, looking forward solemnly, as her eyes seemed to illuminate with its icy color against the shadowy surroundings. She looked as if she were still mind controlled, but her mind was focused on the location of the two powerful crystals. Ark turned back to Aurora with a look of concern, obviously waiting for her to explain more.
"..This may sound odd, but… ..I feel as if I'm linked with them. There's this churning force within my head which I can't explain… Like the crystals are calling me and attracting me to their exact location…" She paused, raising her head from its bowed position and jerking it to the right. Her ice blue hair swung around and followed her head's direction with the abrupt turn and settled once again on her back.
"There! To the right!" At this moment, the three aboard the Overlord brought the twisting and struggling ship that Tob was in to their attention, which was not that far of a distance from them. First catching the eerie, red glow on top of the ship, in their eyes. The being was ripping away at the ship like a mad wolf tearing at its prey, and the three immediately knew who it was.
"Oh, great. ULREZAJ. Psh.. Now THAT was only inevitable. We should expect to find that pest where the crystals are." Kerrigan scoffed. Ark drew his spear of darkness, taking the long weapon into his hands, and he sighed.
"…And of course we can't get to the crystals without fighting 'Red, Detached, and Ugly', here. Aye." He groaned, then his eyes widened to see that Ulrezaj had damaged the shuttle to the point that it could no longer stay steady in flight. The ship was already spiraling in the air, an entire wing had been seared off, and it was already engulfed in crimson flames…
"GGGGAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!" The pilot shouted in panic, fidgeting madly with all the controls, breaking into a chant; praying for his life. Tob bit his lip, the glow of the blinking alert lights turning his skin a reddish hue, as well as his anxious eyes. He pulled the two crystals even closer to his body, until it felt like he couldn't press them against himself anymore. Tob was unusually silent for his high level of fear, until he unleashed a scream of shock from his lungs, straining his voice box as he watched the minacious monster finally rip through the ceiling of the shuttle. Ulrezaj laughed deeply in amusement at the two cowering, and his pupiless eyes scintillated with energy, focused on the crystals.
"I will ENJOY.. CRUSHING EVERY.. SINGLE.. BONE.. IN YOUR BODY!!" Ulrezaj roared out. He began to say some more, but his voice was drowned out by psi-kinetic lighting from the skies, as well as the additional irritating yell of Kerrigan.
"PSIONIC STORM!!" Ulrezaj's body was pierced by the unexpected energy bolts. He yelled out in even more anger and pain. His body shook so much, that he looked like he was about to explode. Not only was Ulrezaj stricken, but the ship was too. The bolts protruded through the ship's material; An entire side of it was tampered with so much, that a giant hole was created. The sides of the hole were jagged and bent, thus proving the power of the attack. Tob leaned against the wall in confusion, planting his feet down to keep his ground to prevent himself from escaping the ship through the vacuum force. The pilot was still screaming in fear, tears flying out of his eyes and pouring down his whole face. The shuttle was nearing the ground, and breaking into pieces by the last few bolts of the psionic storm. Ulrezaj narrowed his eyes as he recovered from the attack. His mind sensed Kerrigan near, and he knew very well that it was her, hencing the Psionic Storm. He growled, starting for Tob.
"Nothing.. will stop me.. FROM GETTING THOSE BACK! NOT EVEN THAT BITCH KERRIGAN!" At this, an angel winged, violet yoshi flew into the action, straight through the large hole in the ship. She was so quick, that she blurred in her movements, her colors smearing into the very air. As quickly as she came, she disappeared from the ship, but besides herself, Tob and the two crystals were gone too. Ulrezaj chuckled, knowing who the girl was.
"Ah.. Archeldress Aurora Yoshiva… This is very good. Hm, hm, hm! She'll hand them to me easily, with my simple command." The red alert lights suddenly shut off, as well as all the lights in the shuttle. The pilot screamed like a five-year-old girl.
"OH MY GOOOODD!! ALL THE POWER'S DOWN!! WE'RE.. WE'RE GONNA DDDDIIIEE!!" The pilot looked back for Tob, only to find him gone, and he saw Ulrezaj leave, just in time, watching him cast 'Recall' as Ulrezaj's body vanished from sight. The pilot's face transfigured in horror.
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!"
Kerrigan lowered the Overlord, following Tob and Aurora, who had already darted down ahead. Kerrigan cackled with success, smirking at Ark as he stood ready with his spear. Ark winced at the sight of the large, fiery explosion a ways below. He shook his head from left to right slowly, sighing.
"The pilot was still in that ship, wasn't he?"
"I doubt that Aurora could'a carried both of them at the same time that fast, before it exploded…" Kerrigan sensed Ark's pity. She didn't say anything more.
The Yoshian Princess lowered to the ground slowly, with Tob in her arms, who still had the crystals pressed against his body. Aurora cupped her celestial wings to suppress against the force of gravity, allowing her to land safely on the ground. She extended her right leg at its full length down below, while she bent the knee of her left. She landed gracefully and lightly on her feet, barely moving the dirt with her shoes, but rather with her wings, as she closed them behind her. She held two fingers up to her face and closed her eyes, chanting a quick intonation. Bringing her chant to a close, she opened her eyes, and in the result of her chanting, her angel wings vanished in evanescence. She lowered her hand, and she glanced over at the koopa, who appeared speechless. He was more confused than before, and he blinked away at the risen smoke of the ship he was just in. He just clung to the crystals as if he were a protective mother.
"…You're welcome." She grinned, running her fingers through her long hair, which cascaded down her back like a sparkling waterfall.
"You've done a nice job of protecting the cr-…" She paused as Ulrezaj appeared on the ground just feet away from Aurora.
"Ahh.. Princess Aurora… I must thank you for doing an excessively incredible job for me. Why, a lovely-"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah.. You disgust me, Ulreza-butt. Save the crap." Kerrigan lowered the Overlord to the ground, and she and Ark jumped out. They walked to either side of Aurora and glared at Ulrezaj.
"Hah, hah.. What's this, now? Aurora, dispose of these two while I get the crystals."
"Mm.. I think not, 'Lord Ulrezaj'. You're an ever growing, perpetual pain in my posterior… Not to mention in the mind…" The Yoshian princess smirked.
"What?!" Ulrezaj spat the word out, aroused by anger.
"Mm-hmm.. Looks like you're screwed now, Buddy." Kerrigan grinned at Ulrezaj, outstretching her claw-like wings. Ark stepped forward with narrowed eyes, his fingers curled around his Spear of Darkness, charged up, and ready to release some dark laser.
Tob looked around and smiled, letting a sigh of relief escape. He knew that the three were on his side, he knew that Ulrezaj wouldn't get the crystals, and he knew that a battle was about to begin…
