Chapter CCXII: Zolott Trees ~Sheko
Sheko spun from side to side as the tunnel, it seemed like, curved from left to right, up and down. He was being thrown around in every direction, almost enough to make him pass out. The colors shifted in the tunnel at a constant rate and his eyes were becoming strained. At first he felt as if he was going to pass out but it was actually a different feeling. The tunnel began to slow down and it straightened out. By now it was just the feeling of a straight drop, he knew the voyage was about over.
A light engulfed him, blinding his vision. When he regained sight things were a bit slow, he looked around him seeing trees everywhere but there was something wrong with this image. He wasn’t on the ground, but actually flying through the air, it was very blurry and slow, almost dream-like. He looked in front of him to see a large tree approaching; he was too drowsy to care. The tree came closer and closer until he collided, which violently shook the tree. Sheko fell to the ground with a thud, yet perfectly asleep.
"Heeeeyyyy, yyyooouu aaalllright?" A voice rang through Sheko’s head as he was beginning to awake.
"Heeeelllloooo? Arrreee youuu alright?" The voice continued until Sheko opened his eyes and saw a face floating above him.
"Hey, you’re awake." The strange teenager stared at Sheko on confusion.
"Ugh, I’m fine…" Sheko replied rubbing his head. He tried to sit up but fell back down, sore from the trip.
"Here, let me help." The stranger helped Sheko sit up against the tree.
"Looks like someone wasn’t watching where they were flying."
"Flying?"
"Yeah, you came flying through the forest and then straight into that tree" He motioned to the tree Sheko was up against.
"But…I can’t fly…"
"Well, then I guess someone threw you into the tree?"
"No…"
"Say, are you from around here?" The stranger examined Sheko’s face.
"No, I’m not." Sheko replied rubbing his head.
"Yeah, you don’t look like a native."
"Yeah, I’m from…" A thought ran through Sheko’s head like a bolt of lightning. He staggered to get to his feet.
"Whoa, you should stay sitting."
Sheko was now leaning against the tree, "Are you of any affiliation with a certain Havering?" Sheko glared at the stranger.
"What?!" The young man jumped back.
"Well, are you?!"
"Of course not! I just arrived here, and from the looks of it so have you."
"How do I know you’re not lying?"
"Well, for one thing I’m not a metal clunker."
"A what?" Sheko tilted his head in confusion.
"Ya know, a robot…mechanical being?"
"I don’t know what you’re talking about…"
"Oh boy, you didn’t come from like mid-evil times did you?"
"Umm, what are mid-evil times?"
"What kind of technology did you have on your world?"
"Techno what?"
"Ok, never mind, you’re in the past my friend and quiet frankly, you’ll need my help."
"Why is that?" Sheko now standing straight.
"Say ‘The Periodic Table of Elements.’"
"What, like magic?"
"Ok, you do need my help."
"I suppose having someone to travel with wouldn’t hurt."
"Theirs the spirit!" The stranger began walking.
"Wait, what’s your name?"
He turned around, "Kyanosa, what’s yours?"
"Sheko."
"Well Sheko lets get moving."
Sheko nodded in agreement and took a few steps towards him, still a bit dazed.
The two were now walking down what seemed to be some sort of animal trail through the forest. The wild life here was so different and odd.
"So, why are you here?" Kyanosa asked.
"I need to find some sort of resistance group against this Havering person, he threatens our world and most likely yours as well. Would you happen to know where they might be?"
"Not really, but I’m sure we’ll come by them sooner or later. This planet can’t be too big."
"Yeah, so what are you doing here?"
"Well, besides searching for my marbles, pretty much the same objective you have."
"Marbles?"
"Don’t ask…"
