Chapter CCLI: Learn From It, or Repeat It ~Multehx
Multehx looked over at Prismaya, 6400, and Vector. They looked restless, as if going to meet someone for something somewhere and forced to wait. Multehx shook his head. He was just the opposite- scared out of his mind. Though his grough exterrior didn't tell it, there was a great deal of panic surging through him.
He was beginning to remember; to remember things from Rhyjulian's life, and it scared him what he recalled. He rose from his spot near the door, excused himself with some good excuse and walked down a nearby halway.
He turned and looked out the window. "I can't believe it came to this.." he thought, lowering his head. "I'm right here, about to take on Havering, but I have the creepy feeling something bad will happen.." He felt a hand on his shoulder and saw a ghostly outline of a figure. It had green skin, green hair, wore odd yet ornate clothes and no nose. A Twilighter..
"R...Rhyjulian?" Multehx nodded. The Twilighter grinned. "Pretty perceptive, kid." he smirked, giving the Agent a pat on the back. "No wonder you were able to harness so much of it's power..even to create some moves I never saw in my life." "But..why are you here?" Rhyjulian smirked. "Cause.", he began, "I know ya feel some doubts, and I can sense something bad will happen too, but I gotta tell ya, no matter what, yer an ace up fate's sleeve, kid."
Multehx raised a brow and turned as the Twilighter released his shoulder and paced to the other wall. "What do you mean?" the Agent asked. "Well, you're one trick in the hole that CR has." he grinned. Multehx was shocked. "You know of CR?!" Rhyjulian nodded. "Yep..the Twilighter Embassador right before Havering. Odd chap, but a nice guy."
Multehx slowly nodded. "But...what did you mean I'm the ace in his hand?" Rhyjulian cleared his throat and deftly waved. "I'm sayin CR knew about yer potential." "Beg pardon?" "Yer potential. He won the mn with the Rage Force over to his side. He won a good guy over that tips the scales in the Time Flow's power.", Rhyjulian paused and grinned, "And neither he nor you have seen your full abilities yet!"
Multehx looked puzzeled. "Full abilities??" Rhyjulian nodded. "Yeah. You have a long ways to go in power. When you get through, you should be able to swat guys like Havering currently is like flies." Neither said a word and Rhyjulian walked over and stared out the window. "The Rage Force is somethin else, isn't it?" "Hunh?" "It's quite a trip I mean." "Yeah...it is." "Figured it all out yet?" Multehx shook his head. "I only know it came from you, and now I'm your sucessor and a Twilighter too."
Rhyjulian chuckled and walked over to a pipe sticking out of the wall. It was rather large and sturdy, so he sat on it. "It might be one of the most useful things you ever hear." Multehx nodded and sat down, leaning against the wall. Rhyjulian closed his eyes. "Well...it all started a loooong time ago, on a planet named 'Caelum'." He paused, nodding to himself. "That's right, you don't know the difference of magic and magik yet.." "Hunh? Sounds like the same word." Rhyjulian shook his head. "It's not. Magic with a C and Magik with a K. VERY different things."
Rhyjulian leaned against the wall and folded his arms. "Magic with a C is easily expained as what yer uncle larry can do with a quarter and yer ear. Magik with a K is the REAL nitty gritty of the supernatural. Now, it'd be quite funny if you substituted the two. Warlocks would be dueling with trick cards and stealing each other's noses, while Houdini would be wowin audiences by making twisters to level buildings."
"Now, Caelum is the home of magik for the universe. It houses the greatest magik field. So, it's home to wizards and us demons alike." Multehx nodded in understanding so Rhyjulian went on. "Now, way back, there were two step brothers- Multehx Rhyjulian, and Pseudo Havering. From birth, Twilighters have special talents; I had the Rage Force, Pseudo the ability to make numerous projections to act of accord as he would with a conscisness linked to his, hence he was able to skip school a LOT and still learned and did well."
"We both grew and took suiting jobs. I was a leader for one of the armies under Whyr-Rhoh-Tin, and Pseudo was the Twilighter Embassador; he controlled all legal affairs and helped make the war official on paper. And, you see, a common misnomer is that all demons act evily. It's hogwash." Rhyjulian frowned. "We all are born in the light of darkness, but we have free will to do good or bad. It's just like humanity, except we don't rationalize out crimes like those cowards. And it's so much easier to go down the path of evil."
"Anyways, the 'Magi Council', the head wzards on Caelum, did something, I can't remember if it was legit or not, and this pissed Whyr off. So, he ordered us all to arms, and so began the 'War of the Great One'." Multehx nodded, having little time to take it all in before his namesake continued. "So, it went as all wars tend to, and near the end, some cocky little wizard nailed me when I wasn't looking and inflicted a mortal wound. I was taken to an infirmary and lay dying on a cot for nearly a week."
"That's where Pseudo comes in. He was a scout for Whyr, and he heard about my incident, so he rushed to my side as I was fading fast. Now, when a Twilighter dies, our remains petrify, and our hearts turn to some sort of gem with our natural talents inside. The Rage Force blazed in mine. I passed on, and Pseudo took my heart and hid it in his belongings, as numerous would have wanted the power of the Rage Force."
"Around that time, the council killed Whyr-Rhoh-Tin and sealed his soul in the mighty Sepalaris; A blade forged, to big to wield correctly, but made to house a great power. It held Whyr's soul and became a great weapon of evil. But the deaths of both myself and 'The Great One' must have been to much for my step brother. His mind warped. He went ballistic and delved into his collection of books. Over the years, he learned a massive collection of spells, some current, some ancient and forbidden. He became a living powerhouse. Then he tried to bond with my diamond heart and recieve the Rage Force."
Rhyjulian lowered his head. "He was too weak. He couldn't accept the power. It drove him to a fury, and he aimed to become so powerful he could contain the Rage Force without being driven mad or destroyed by it. He went on a rampage, slaying wizards and demons, taking their souls and growing stronger. After millenia, he tried again."
"Still, it didn't work. It infuriated him, and that's where he got the idea of making 'the Era of Perfection'. An age where demons ruled and humanity was extinct. Where he was revered as a deity. He created what is now called the 'Cosmic Rip' and sent his projections out, conquering universe after universe. He grew to immense power, and was going to try again as a robot came forth and smacked the gem from his hand into the spiraling recesses of the Rip."
He paused and shrugged. "No one knows what happened to that robot, but the diamond...it's right there." He pointed to the Agent's right eye. "It still exists, and he still needs it, so you two are destined to fight." Multehx slowly nodded. "So..I guess..that makes him my step brother..eh?" Rhyjulian nodded. "He's powerful...but he's scared of the power you posess." Rhyjulian opened his eyes. "He's watched you grow in might a hundred fold in months what took him decades. Right now, he is your superior, but with maturing and development of your abilities...you will greatly surpass him."
Rhyjulian stood and so did the Agent. Rhyjulian stood over him. Multehx hesitated, then asked, "What if...the others act differently around me because of the power. What if they..think me 'cheap' to be attaining this status?" Rhyjulian smiled. "They might just think that. But the end result any one can reach. You just happen to be going down the path fastest. They might shun you now...but the possibilities you open for everyone..you'll be a legend in your own right."
Rhyjulian vanished from sight and the Agent swore he could feel another consciousness in his mind. "Rhyjulian..I won't fail. I won't let you down. I'll stop this madman and make it a better multiverse."
And for the first time in ages, Rhyjulian smiled in awe and inspiration.
