The Dark Lich

Name: The Dark Lich

Home World: Fa'Diel
History: A powerful wizard aeons ago upon Fa'Diel had been on the search for immortality and world domination. Upon his deathbed, a demon (ie, Havering), came to him, knowing his want. The sorceror sold his soul to him, and became The Dark Lich. 200 years ago, The Dark Lich entered a young man called Thanatos, one of the four right hand men of Emporer Vandole of “the Empire” of Fa'Diel. He persuaded Vandole to seek the Mana Fortress and resurrect it, and was basically the man behind the scenes "pulling the strings", so to speak. He knew that to raise the Fortress, he would have to break the seals of the Mana Seeds, so he had Vandole employ the other three, Geshtar, Sheex and Fanha, to do so. Meanwhile, Thanatos took up residence in some ruins south of the city of Pandora, and started to brainwash the people of that town, making them like mindless zombies. At about this time, Randi, the Mana Knight, pulled the Mana Sword from out of its stone near Potos Village, nearby. Upon this occurrence, he got Elinee the Witch of the Haunted Forest under his spell, and had her capture Dyluck, the commander of the Pandoran army. Dyluck was then transported to Thanatos, and used him, as well as a girl called Phanna, as bait for Purim, one of the three Heroes, who was granted the spells of restoration and enhancement by the Elementals (Purim was in love with Dyluck, and best friends with Phanna). When one of Thanatos' creations, Wall Face, was defeated, he disappeared to the ruins outside Northtown, in the Empire, and yet again, the three Heroes found them. They were able to rescue Phanna. However, Thanatos was not disappointed by that loss, for he had other plans. When all the seals of the Mana Seeds had been broken, and Geshtar, Sheex and Fanha had been killed by the Mana Knight, he killed Vandole, and usurped the position of Emporer. He resurrected the Fortress, and upon it, before the eyes of the three Heroes, The Dark Lich left the body of Thanatos, and entered the body of Dyluck, killing him. He then set about to destroy the three Heroes, but was defeated and banished to the underworld where, 200 years later, Havering came to him, and set him about to be the nemesis of Dyluck Thanatos Yoshi von Kippo, "blasphemous" in his sight due to the name.

Unique Abilities: Knows all spells of Mana, and is able to teleport at will. He also knows some devastating attacks, and can turn people to ice or stone, burn them alive etc. He also has a paralysis attack, his personal favourite, involving his bony hands clenching in a fist and spraying powder everywhere, but he only does that while the rest of him is unreachable, his hands the only part of him visible.

(Now, this is my own record and history of The Dark Lich, Squaresoft, who actually created the character, may have a different tale to tell, and theirs would be the one which is correct).
